I was wondering how to use that mic jack in the back! I was befuddled why they put that in the back in such a dumb place. Mine didn't come with a leg like that.. I can certainly make one... Thanks for the tip!
@TurtleDudeProd11 жыл бұрын
Dude, unless you want to record with both the built in mics (or the little imput your useing) AND the bottom 2 inputs you don't need to change your settings like that. Just hit the Mic1 or Mic2 button and it will automatically switch to those inputs. Using 4 channel, you're doing just that. You will record from both the bottom inputs and both the built in mics(or a stereo signal from the 3.5mm input) Learning about your zoom a little better will make your life easier mate!

Hi Scott, do you know the name or where to buy the accessory attached to the recorder that allows it to be stand up on a table or that serves as a base if you know what I mean (that stick) Thanks a lot.

I don't use my Zoom H4n PRO much because of my type of video (TOY R/C Model Planes) where I need someone to figure a way for my Canon XA-30 or T5i to take my H4n PRO from pause to record and back to pause as I press the Record/Pause button on the camera. I have the Wired Remote for the H4n PRO but need the H4n PRO better synced with the Record/Pause of my camera as there many shots are very short 3 to 10 seconds and as many shots as 25 to 30 or more in a single flight. and can be of different aircraft. So you can see the synchronization of audio can be very time consuming if not at all impossible. Any help out there PLZ.

Also, your way will create an extra unnessesary recording on the SD card. Unless you are wanting to get audio from both the built in mics and the bottom imputs of course.

I think that through the headphones output you got a more suitable level (-10db i think), less distorted..

Thanks a lot... You are the best. Please I do have a question. When I record, the output to my camera always have a background noise. But when I play the zoom h4n audio directly I don't hear the background noise. How do I remove the background noise from the output...? Thanks
@MrLeadbelly19668 жыл бұрын
If you are using the H4n's headphone jack to send the signal to your camera, that signal is Very Low. A "headphone level" signal is much lower than a "mic level" signal, which is lower than a "line level" signal. The H4n should really have a separate, dedicated "line-level" output jack. Your camera's audio input jack is designed to accept either a mic or line level source. In your case, it's better to just use the audio that's being recorded to your SD card (in the H4n). The audio going to your camera should only be used for "reference"...

Hello! Do you know, can I record 2 different stereo channels from 2 ext mics (bottom 1 & 2 jacks) simultaneously? Thank you!

Yes, you'll need to put the unit into 4-channel mode in order to accomplish this task.

thank you, but what's next? i switched to 4ch mode and put 2 mics into these 2 inputs on the bottom. and then i plug in my headphones into the zoom to check it, and then i hear that one of my mics (which is plugged into the 1st input) is in the left ear only and the second mic is in the right ear only. how can i have both mics in both ears simultaneously?

There is terrible hiss on this recording... Perhaps you need to reduce the built in pre amp in camera to +1 and use a Fiio E3 and it'll take care of this hiss.
