The SM7B is meant to be used really close to your lips so as to avoid any room reflections. The capsule of the naked self is placed almost 3 in from the built-in pop filter, so even though you place yourself right on top of it, there is no overbearing proximity effect.

This is a great video, thank you! Would it be possible to use this same setup with an RE20?
@MikeBSalazar10 ай бұрын
Great video Kuya Niko! That is an interesting setup, especially for travel… with the Shure hehe. If I wanted to maintain a mostly permanent setup, I would like to keep everything the same. If I didn’t use a top handle with my FX30, I would use the Scarlet Rite as well. If I can keep my setup in the same place and not have to focus with too many cables and plugging and unplugging, I would do that. But of course we got to adapt in our spaces haha

I just moved my desk (again) so running a cable now is farther than my previous setup. That's why I thought of this setup. And I think I'm going to stick with this for a while and see how it goes. Hehehe.

If it sounds like what the video sounds like as opposed to the test then I’m WITH IT

The sound of my talking head video has a bit of noise reduction applied to it while the tests did not have the noise reduction 🙂

It's valuable mobile plan B or workaround to have, even professionnaly on the go. And even this is anough of an argument to have a DJI mic hanging around

yan pala ang benefit ng 32 bit floattttt
@NikoBols10 ай бұрын
Yes. And also the opposite. Pag nag clip yung recording, pwede pa ma-recover yung audio. Para siyang RAW ng photography. Check mo yung DJI Mic 2 review ko, sa 10:12 dinemo ko yung pag nag clip.

lol this is amazing. id be editing on the go without the ability to boost up the audio in post. like just using capcut. so do you think that the volume would just be too low for this to work? theres a way to raise the gain in capcut. but thats the only post processing i could do
@NikoBols10 ай бұрын
Yeah, the audio will always be that low if you use the SM7B on the DJI Mic. I think you can raise the gain CapCut 👍

Hi Niko! Thanks for great overview of the DJI mic 2 + SM7dB. Currently testing the same setup with 32 bit ON and recorded sound is very low.. On your recording it has great volume to it.. tips or tricks to fix?
@NikoBols14 күн бұрын
Hmm...as you can see in my video, the wave form of my SM7B + DJI Mic 2 is also very low. I basically raise the gain in post processing.

Tried using the fethead with the XLR to 3.5?
@NikoBols7 ай бұрын
Nope. The FetHead needs to have Phantom power for it to increase the gain. The DJI Mic 2 doesn't provide this for the Fethead.

Kabayan! Just any xlr to 3.5mm cable?
@NikoBols7 ай бұрын
Some are messaging me that it did not work for them. What I used is a UGreen XLR to 3.5mm cable. I'm really not sure if these cables have "specs" and that this setup requires certain specs.

I tried it out, but when I boost the 32-bit float WAV on any DAW, the noise floor makes my voice hard to hear Do you know what could be causing it? I’m using the same setup, no clue what went wrong ;_;
@SerafinMarc5 ай бұрын
why not use the booster into the dji mic 2? I'll try it!
@NikoBols5 ай бұрын
The booster needs 48V of phantom power.

Bro!! can you do this with the MV7?
@NikoBols14 күн бұрын
Hmm...you should be able to if the MV7 can be used via XLR without plugging it via USB for it to function.

Great video...but, I can't get it to work. 32-bit applied, directly into the DJI Mic 2 and nada, nothing but high pitch, extremely low volume. Any ideas?

hi David! same issue here.. did you find any solution yet?

Hi David and Roman, same issue here if you find any solution ! What mics are you guys exactly using ?
@RomanMartins6 ай бұрын
@@hugocamilleri8070 found that best way to do is to crank up dB on receiver and transmitter all the way to +12 dB.. and in post-edit also increase volume of the recording. Also found out that SM7dB preamp is kicking in when 48V power supply is connected. Without it there is no preamp to those extra dB from the mic.

Which mic are you using Roman ? For my part with the Shure SM58 I have nothing but a high pitch static sound even with everything maxed out

Hey man, the wind screen on your SM7B seems off. Usually windscreen like that are on a counterfeit. I mean no offense by this but maybe look at the real vs fake sm7b videos. Other then that, great video 👍

No offense taken and mine is not a counterfeit. I bought this from a very reputable physical audio/music store. They’re an official dealer of Shure.
