This is the kind of micing ideas I have been working on. Close micing was done due to limited resources, time and recording to tape, but sound sources are so much more than a few inches and a microphone. Manny, thanks for sharing your wonderful ideas.

Thrilled you dig and always hoping to inspire even a newer way of doing this! It’s epic as the band who has a few engineers it flipped out when I added the rooms w vocals and not using a plug In❤

Yeah man! Love the ideas. I’ve really been wanting to experiment more with multi miking and using room mics on vocals when my studio build is complete. Thx Manny

Very cool, I like the song as well. Some of that guitar tone reminded me of the band Failure.

Very cool ideas. I am getting ready to record vocals for a special project where the singer is primary in about 80% of the tracks with one vocal only. He's incredible at what he does and has good technique but you just opened my ears to some new ideas with the omni mics on the floor. even one would be cool with another mic array. Thanks again for a cool lesson! Cheers 🤘🍻

The audio scapes sounds great too. But I was caught up in your technique.

This place is soooooo big why don't you build some walls. You need to find Megadeth's video of them making an album. They were in this huge place, I think in Arizona, and it was pretty cool once they closed it all in and isolated crap and made it a working studio. kzbin.info/www/bejne/rmizZIiwaqajesU

The lease and owner of building doesn’t permit a full build out so we are using the space best we can ➡️🎶✔️

@@mannysmiclocker Do Stevie Vai's method, building one in your back yard, after he left from Zappa. It was nothing special. Anyway's if you know about building things, just watch the megadeth video. it's a room with in a room, that's all. You could probably by a huge freakN shed, that people live in, and put it in that place and build the studio inside. You have to think, with that setup you know people couldn't steal your crap. Having people in out of a place like that, word gets around and music equipment sells fast.

@@SeanDuranMusic bro, with all due respect, Manny doesn’t need anyone telling him how he should be doing things. I’m sure you’re meaning to offer advice, but it’s coming off kinda condescending.

@@SeanDuranMusic I’m a bit lost on this comment as not sure what your taking about me building another studio behind a house and insinuating my gear being sold ??! But I appreciate you trying to help me but no plans to buy a shed or house to build a studio in the back where pople can live and maybe my gear can be safer? ha have a good night brother and thanks

Explain how you record vocals without hardware?
@mannysmiclocker7 ай бұрын
Plug straight in to digital Daw. Yea the mic and cable but the preamps are now digital for most. I consider hardware preamps / Delays or reverbs and compressor / limiter normal tools of the trade. Analog hardware to be PC all mics coming in.. Thanks J for sharing and caring!
@johnviera38847 ай бұрын
@@mannysmiclocker “hardware input processing.” your vocals sound great BTW there’s is no way to use a microphone into a DAW without analog conversion. Wether inside the USB microphone or inside the audio interface
