Wish artists knew a bit more of technicals, what mic they use etc. all these play a part into their sound which they might not realise. Also, the mixing has a massive impact, you can't just pump money into a commercial mix engineer and expect it to get your "ideal sound".. But maybe she is focusing on her own vocals too much

I don't think so because when she plays live, she also sounds absolutely amazing and sings it close to the recording. Clairo can have that effect of perfection in her recorded tracks, and that's part of why I enjoy her music. I am a producer as well.

If you listen to Clairo live shows it's so terrible. And 90% of her songs are made by someone else. At the end of the day she's a mid singer who just sings other people's songs. The first song she did really did herself ("pretty girls") was garbage and only got viral bc she was in fact a pretty girl. She's such a fraud. Yes, I'm a hater! ❤
