Thank You for the video! You can link IRON PAD & OUTPUT by touching both knobs at the same time on the HW - it enables the link. Prop Q vs Contant Q plugin visualization is heading in the next software release!

you guys should make a recallable console that utilizes all your 500 series gear
@bnjmnwst4 күн бұрын
@berdeauxlaveau6515 All they need to add to their lineup is a console chassis, AKA a set of 500 series chassis in the shape of a console.

you guys and Cranborne are changing the game, imo. Im obsessed with the 500 series stuff and have every single one...I think im gonna have to switch to this EQ now, too. which brings me to my next question....you guys want to buy a massive passive?lol

3:30 proportional Q: e.g., SPL Channel One, since Mk.1 (25 yrs ago), as well. Or elysia x-filter if you prefer something modern. Not talking you out of your fascination for the wes, but it seems to be something that you just weren't aware of. Yay, I knew something you didn't, hehe! That resolves my audio engineering career :P
@RecordingStudioLoser2 күн бұрын
The spl is an adaptive q but it doesn’t switch between that and proportional. Neither does the Elysia as far as I know.

Isn’t proportional Q how API eq works by design? Thought that’s why so many plugins have this feature
@RecordingStudioLoser5 күн бұрын
Yes 550 and 560 do. It’s not common. and if you get the older getting them with the old 2520s was the holy grail. And you’d pay for it. And those 2520s fail. Old studio I worked at kept stacks of them to replace broken units.

What about the BlackBox HG Q- ? Can it compete with this Ng q? Dang I’m just now seeing the plugin 😑

@dimv4 күн бұрын
@@HondoFelderwhat made the ngtube drive you crazy? How was the sound?
@HondoFelder4 күн бұрын
@ the best way i could describe it was weighty and rich. The low end felt super thick and the high end seems so sweet and non-harsh. Felt like i could dime all the knobs and not make it sound bad hahah. HG-Q seems more aggressive to me and maybe tighter, but didn’t have the same type of lush thick sound. Sounded more…hairy? Like more textural and less a core part of the sound. Hard to explain!
@dimv4 күн бұрын
@@HondoFelder oh I thought you are talking about the ng tube Comp. But still thx for your input!!!
@HondoFelder4 күн бұрын
@@dimv No worries! I heard the tube comep too. Together with the tubeEQ as well. If i had 10g to spare i would have dropped it right there haha. Putting them on together felt like doing 60% of the mix with one button press. The little screen on the front of the NGTubecomp was SUPER useful as well. I hope they update the NGBus with it.
@dougleydorite5 күн бұрын
I decided to go with several Hyperion units vs one NG tube. I don’t want to feel like I have to use all the features for the sake of getting my money worth out of the unit. I’d rather have multiple channels spread out across the mix

If your business can easily afford it or you're that sure that your business can afford all the repayments and it will be a good return on investment, yes, that's cool. If not, you're just tiddling about with toys and that's OK too. Don't you have a fiduciary responsibility to buy it for the right reason or is it a private buy?
