@@afrobluatlanta2380 Nah. They are both wonderful pieces of music that are vulnerable and honest. You are confusing personal preference and what's good music. This song is brilliant, but I would have NEVER found it without 444. And why? Because 444 is a great song that I listen to a lot. Now this song has made the same rotation. Different isn't always bad. There is room for everyone. Just enjoy the feeling you get from whatever you listen to. This was 4 years ago, I hope you have changed your mindset a bit.

Her words touch the hearts of many women hurt by a man who is unsure of how to truly love. This song I believe touched Jay Z because not money not fame nor a " bad Bey" can teach what your heart should naturally follow. LOVE is never to be taken lightly. Why do I find it so hard to love you? When I know in my heart that I want to? I’ve been putting you down when you aren’t around I’m letting you down every day I’ve been messing around when you’re out of town Why do I keep on running away? I’m a part time lover and I’m never there I find it hard to believe you don’t want it to end I’ll be changing my tune when you walk in the room I’ll be fixing the look on my face I’m gonna get close to you, give my loving to you At least until you’re going away I know that I’m not good I’m never gonna treat you like I should I’ve heard that all of the boys think you’re crazy When I treat you so bad, why do you want me? I’ve heard that all of the girls are starting to hate me For stealing your heart and treating you badly It doesn’t hurt anymore when you walk through the door I forget every word that you said And I can’t put you down when no one else is around And when you’re gone, you’re getting replaced I know that I’m not good I’m never gonna treat you, never gonna treat you like I should I’m a part time lover

I have been overly obsessed with the Jay-Z 444 song. Countless evenings of putting that on in my headphones and going for a walk. The beat always gave me this feeling I could never fully explain. The urgency, the passion, the hurt and the honesty, it really affected me. The feeling alone made me really ponder things in my life in a way few songs do. So, I am going through the whole album last night, come to the song 444 and I had to know what song is sampled. Lately that has been a passion of mine, is finding the original samples of songs I cherish. So I find this original song. I literally play it a dozen times, back to back. I am wondering to myself, who is this 70's group, and how have I never heard of them? Only to have my mind blown that this song is barely older than 5 years. I don't say this often, but this song is a legitimate masterpiece. Every second captures my attention. I have shown so many people this song today, and I am so excited to check out more music. Thank you for making a song that is extremely powerful and therapeutic. This is actually timeless. Have a lovely and safe day/night to anyone who happens to stumble across this.

It's really amazing to imagine how these producers find their inspiration in random, obscure songs and other media. A random indie song you caught in an airport, a folk song from the Library of Congress, broadway Annie... When I get an occasional laugh for something offbeat I'm listening to, I always tell people that "your favorite producer is listening to shit like this too." It's literally modern art.
