I just purchased this system for my daughter to use at college. Set it up today and I am very impressed with the sound quality given the relatively low cost. I can confirm that it does have anti-skate, non-adjustable. With the counter weight adjusted to float the arm, the arm will quickly swing back to the rest. The markings for tracking force are off by 0.5 g on the high side. I have to position the weight at 2.0 to get 2.5 on my scale. Still seems pretty nice for the cost. The player has some weight to it. The platter is hefty and takes about 40 seconds to spin down with belt disconnected. My daughter uses Spotify daily, so she is excited about the BT connectivity. Overall it seems like a very nice starter system.

This is a perfectly acceptable entry level phonograph. It won't ruin your albums, they will still be fine for use on nicer turntables, if one wants to upgrade. But, for a complete beginner who wants to dip into vinyl collecting, this is not a bad starting point.

As @fishrider62 mentioned, the current price on Amazon (U.S.) is $269.99, but there is a $60 instant rebate, so $209.99 is quite reasonable considering everything that is included in the set. Heck, the average price of a turntable dust cover alone is roughly $100 and the Audio-Technica 3600L cartridge retails for $25 to $35, so this 1 by ONE set is a great value.

The BT transmit function, with it still being internally amplified, and reproduced out of the wired speakers. That would be great for someone, who’s in a situation, or place where they would want to have an multi room, setup. Imagine, throwing a get together/party, or somewhere where you would want music in the primary room, and an speaker at the grill, kitchen, billiards room, etc. Maybe you are between listening in the primary rooms alone, or with another person. One of you decided to go get something to eat in the kitchen, or go to another room and get ready to leave, or do some work from home, in the home office. Power up your BT speaker, and continue the music with the other person, even if you are in a different room.

I'd say it's another gem. It certainly looks it. I was really impressed. I feel that a pressed platter is probably always going to have some wobble. To eliminate it completely you're probably going to need to get a machined platter - and that, of course, is going to be far more expensive.

19:22 In terms of the turntable being able to transmit Bluetooth (not just receive Bluetooth signals), one doesn't have to just use a Bluetooth speaker (or Bluetooth headphones for that matter) when one could attach an inexpensive ($25 or so) Bluetooth receiver unit to any vintage stereo system connected to great quality speakers to better enjoy the sound of that turntable. For example, I have an excellent vintage Marantz 2270 receiver and I connected a Bluetooth receiver to the AUX (auxiliary) jacks at the back to receive signal from my laptop, or any other Bluetooth transmitting device, while hearing the music via my Bowers & Wilkins tower speakers, so the sound quality is very impressive indeed. :)

15:06 I'll always love 'Sing Sing Sing' composed by Louis Prima and particularly when it was performed by Benny Goodman and his orchestra. I'd say Benny Goodman's 'Sing Sing Sing' and Glenn Miller's 'In the Mood' are neck and neck in terms of my favourite big band tunes and they defined the Swing era perfectly. :)

Record Ology, this little stereo looks and sounds great! Of course I guess you know what I'm gonna say😂It's missing direct recording to USB drives without a PC😂 it is such a great feature to have. I don't know why the manufacturers say that they don't understand it. As a DJ it's great to have certain vinyl tracks that aren't available on streaming for my sets, and also to digitize the rare vinyls that are no longer available streaming or otherwise, honestly, how much more can it cost them to install a recording feature that you can use without a computer? It's such a hassle that way. I'm sorry Ology, this is not a rant. I'm just passionate about recording vinyls in a convenient way. Hopefully will get a nice portable with a magnetic cartridge that Records to portable USB drives soon. I'm not giving up hope

Another great turntable system review, Record-ology, and that 1 by One set is very versatile offering a lot of possibilities. The price is competitive too, especially if there are any rebates or deals online, so there is value there, especially as a starter setup which is far superior to most, if not all, starter suitcase kits, particularly since it features a replaceable/upgradeable cartridge. :)

Excellent vid this is a nice TT the only thing is if sub platter has a wobble it will transmit it to main platter and make it look worse ,you can see main platter is not true when they cast it so that to me is not ok but sub platter should not have a wobble thats bad it would drive me nuts ,having a ocd issue i could not take it but for a beginner TT I think it is better than a beginner TT and if you read the manual I noticed you said it all manual but it will shut off after 3 minutes at end of record you got to at least look at manual a lot of people would want to know if it stops at end when you do not read it and assume you are giving this tt a bad review or not a true explanation of what it can do so my appologies I do not want to offend but you also did this with the Luscinia TT JRo

Serious question. What is the benefit of a 45 adapter that isn't "cheap plastic"? I've seen you point them out in many videos, but don't think I've seen a reason why they are not desirable.
@CraiginOhioUSA7 ай бұрын
The benefit is only that a heavy, smoothly finished metal adapter feels nicer in the hand. It's more pleasant, to the touch. It's also slightly easier to handle, to set on the platter. And it wouldn't bump out of place easily. But, as long as the plastic one is the correct size, there is really no difference. However...Many 45s are pressed off-center. If I notice the arm swinging, while the disc is playing, I must remove the adapter, and gently, carefully place the record into the optimum position, so the actual grooves are centered exactly. It must be perfect. Or I'd not be able to enjoy it.
@Recordology7 ай бұрын
They usually work fine - I just prefer the feel of a more substantial one.

@tylerjames17167 ай бұрын
I just bought this and recieved it yesterday, after watching your review. I dont know if i got unlucky or what but mine came without a platter mat (however my platter does spin much flatter than yours does in the video) and no stylus cover factory installed over the needle. No damage to the stylus but like what the heck. My real issue is that when i put mine in TX mode to send audio to a bluetooth speaker or headphones, the audio continues to play out of the system speakers while also transmitting to bluetooth. Kinda defeats the purpose of listening on bluetooth headphones if the system is still going to play audio over the loudspeakers.

Have never come across a steel platter, if it's metal it's aluminum. Try a magnet on it? Grounding wires are yellow/green by law where I live
@bobby6666667 ай бұрын
There are a number of turntables with metal platters. I think the Audio Technica LP120 has one. They have an issue that if you tap them they make a ringing noise. This is not good as it can affect the sound of the playback. There is a UK Company called Soundeck. One of their products is a tape that is put on the underside and this helps by dampening the platter.

It was way too heavy for aluminum.

If my record player skips how can I fix the problem?
@Recordology7 ай бұрын
Check out our videos on the subject..
@TorontoJon7 ай бұрын
If your record player is skipping, it could be due to the part that raises or lowers the tone arm is sticking and not going down fully when the tone arm is lowered, so the stylus is not low enough on your record. Basic skipping though could be as a result of a very scratched or warped record. Warping can be decreased using a variety of methods, but if the record has deep scratches or scuffs, there is generally no way to fix that and those records will always skip and potentially damage your stylus too. So, be selective when collecting records and avoid buying or playing damaged records. If you have a suitcase player, aside from the first reason I mentioned, it's also possible that the hinged lid is rubbing against the record and interfering with proper speed and with the record spinning properly, so if the lid is removeable, remove it before playing records. There may be other reasons for skipping, so refer to what I've written and even better, refer to Record-ology's videos on the subject and then troubleshoot to narrow down what your issue(s) may be. Good luck. :)
