Helpful hint: If you have a space in the Folder name like - [My Folder] - you have to put the name of the folder in quotation marks like "My Folder" or else you will get a "There was an error parsing your command."

i don't typically leave comments, but i felt this was a special case. when trying to free up space on my ssd, i moved 203gb of footage to my hdd, and then deleted what was on the ssd. unfortunately, this deleted everything. tried a couple of different options to no avail, and was having difficulties with wfr until i found this video. your breakdown of specific commands greatly simplified my experience, and, after some trial and error (involving the recovery of nearly 7000 useless files), i finally ran an extensive scan (which took >6 hours), and i ultimately was able to recover all of my footage. thank you for this video, i greatly appreciate it!

I can tell this video worked for a lot of people, and it did for me as well. Sadly, my important folder I deleted was on an SSD which...I had to unfortunately learn overwrites and corrupts deleted files pretty much instantly... so I lost everything. If anyone wonders whether there exists a perfect technical instruction video, look no further than this one. Bravo...perfectly explained and helpful. I had accidentally deleted over 12,000 files in one of those moments where I knew I goofed the instant I hit 'Enter'. Astrophotography is my hobby...these are essential (338gb) image processing artifacts. I have 2 SSD, in which two different windows OS is installed and 3 HDD in my PC. I use to change (Remove the cable connection) the SSD sometime in which windows OS is installed. I had a similar problem for Video folder, but unless you're using something like Cloud, the Document folder is in the C drive. But you have to make sure that you write the address to the folder. What I did was to right-click my desired folder, copy address, and then I pasted the address to see the full address. For example Users/name/Videos/myfolder... Also if your address has spaces in it you have to put it in "quotations".

Knowledge Sharing Tech Great video. Please help! I deleted onedrive on a powerful windows 10 desktop. This wiped out the folders on the desktop on my C:\ drive. Why onedrive was keeping the original rather than backing it up is beyond me. Also, I had uninstalled one drive from Remove Programs and yet it was still there. Regardless, the onedrive folder is intact and perhaps in great shape. I ONLY want to recover that folder. @@rbfsh3075 The bad news for me is that the files weren't recoverable except by a data recovery costing in excess of $2000.00 bucks. For me it wasn't worth it, though the guy that tried to recover it suggested I do so. He is a super competent guy and he said he'd only known of one instance when most (not all) of the documents were corrupted. So, statistically, you should have a good chance of recovering your documents but in my case, most documents including the critical ones were corrupted beyond repair. A data recovery center charging a fortune in my case probably could have recovered them. I know - it's frustrating, sorry it happened to you.

Does this still work? I've replicated the exact test in the video and the tool does not find the recently deleted files or folder. It generally scans the C: drive and uploads folders by file type to the recovery folder. The files "recovered" are all generic files that I have no idea where they come from and they're all damaged. I assume you were using your PC the whole time. This makes it nearly impossible to retrieve deleted files because the system will write on the blocks of these deleted files but, you can always try
