I followed this video step-by-step, & it worked!!! I was able to see & retrieve every missin/deleted file, data, music, pics, video, documents, etc.!!! And I saved those files to a new folder on anotha installed drive as recommended.. The program is free!!! It will ask u to upgrade, but it isn't necessary to upgrade the program to retrieve your missin files....the free version takes care of it all.. Whew!! Thanks again!!

Always go into data recovery attempts with a very high expectation of failure. Having thoroughly tested and attempted to use many products over the decades, few have any value at all. Recover (phonetically think bruvva) is the correct pronunciation from what the company told me many years ago.
@dvongrad Жыл бұрын
A little misleading in that formatting the drive was a quick format, which simply overwrites the FAT and marks the space as free. Also, Recuva's capacity to restore files will depend on the colour of the circle before the file name-green for a very good chance of recovery, yellow for 50/50, and red for near zero.
@CyberCPU Жыл бұрын
Quick format is always the default. In order to do a longer format you have to actually uncheck the quick format selection.
@soulstenance Жыл бұрын
@@CyberCPU Point is that quick format is practically identical to just deleting the files if not entirely identical. It also won't damage flash memory like a full format would since no bytes are actually being overwritten. This is great information for the average user who might not have known this was possible though.
@CyberCPU Жыл бұрын

Good video, however, when you delete it from the SD card, just because it does not go into the recycle bin does not mean they are deleted. They don't get really deleted until you remove the SD card because they are stored in a temp location and sometimes depending on availability, in memory. To prove that, simply hit CTRL + Z and your files will return. To permanently delete the files, hit Shift + Delete.

I recently bought a second hand WD Elements 18TB external USB hard drive for backup purposes. I initialised the drive on a Win 10 pro system and created a new simple volume but when formatting the drive I un-checked the quick format option and did a full format - it took 28 hours to complete. I did this believing that all data on this drive belonging to the previous owner would now be permantently deleted and un-recoverable. In your video you formated the SD card leaving the quick format box checked. Could you comment on the difference between quick and full formatting and whether or not a full format really does completely reset the drive to factory state? Recuva (pronounced "recover") is a freeware Windows utility to restore files that have been accidentally deleted from your computer. This includes files emptied from the Recycle bin as well as images and other files that have been deleted by user error from digital camera memory cards or MP3 players. It will even bring back files that have been deleted by bugs, crashes and viruses. (I might add, if your happen to be from Boston it is spelled correctly as "Recuva". 😂)
