Hello Wily, You may want to get a potato or two and squeeze out the potato juice and get an eye dropper to put some drops of the potato juice into your eyes to relieve the burning. You can also cut some potato slices and place the slices of potato directly on your eyes for a while to draw the soreness from your eyes. I was a welder for many years and made a point to knowing how to treat burned eyeballs and how to remove chunks of slag from the eyes. Maybe not approved by many in the medical community, But this knowledge sure helped me more times than I care to admit to.
@DontbeWily5 ай бұрын
Thanks for sharing that. I trust opinions like yours that has first hand experience in this kind of issue I did cut and put ice potatoes in my eyes but did not know about the juice. I definitely would have done it if i would have known that 1st night was awful Next Day that day was better. 3 rd day i was fine
@TheIronDuke5025 ай бұрын
@@DontbeWily One thing to keep in mind about the cold potato slices is that the slices are supposed to draw out the soreness and by the time that you remove the slices from your eyes that they will get very dark looking. Not sure if that is the reaction with air or maybe your natural eye fluid. At the equipment repair facility where I retired from, We had a Cutmaster 102 Plasma Cutter which required at least a 100 amp service for it to work properly. The plasma cutter always seemed to cause most of my eye burns rather than the welding. Most people including myself let their guard down when cutting. I used a auto darkening helmet which was perfect for the welding side of things, But I always had problems hitting the “Happy Medium” when it came to using the plasma cutter because the helmet would either be way too dark or not dark enough it seemed. The very scary thing was that oftentimes that you wouldn’t realize that you had burned your eyes and when you tried to drive at night, It was awful, Especially meeting oncoming traffic with the super bright LED headlights I really do miss practicing my trade, But absolutely do not miss the burned eyes.

Yes,I looked at a arc welding for 5 seconds and it burned 🔥 my eyes..It felt like I had a bunch of sand in my eyes...In about 4 hours I was in excruciating pain and went to the emergency room and the doctor gave me a shot of Demerol and some antibiotics ointment to put in my eyes..it took 3 days for my eyes to heal ..The arc light burned the first layer of skin on my eyes.. Learned a big lesson from that..

Thanks for another great video Wiley. It was most interesting and enjoyable to watch. Sorry about your eyes Wiley. I can understand that the camera lens did not provide enough protection for your eyes from a welder. Oh my. I see you have some dark glasses to wear until your eyes heal up. That had to be painful. Take care of you eyes!!!!!!!!! Your truck driver Scott was a super driver and handled that trailer like a champ. Hard to get that old machine up on the trailer. But the driver eventually got it up on there. He knew how to get it done. Wiley I am not quite following you on this one. You said it was going to Illinois I believe. It was your piece and you sold it???????? Or you had just bought it. Don’t quite understand. Not much left of it the way it looks. Give us some heads up as to what is happening here. Kind of confusing. Most important: you take care of your eyes Wiley. Hopefully they get healed up. Thanks Wiley. The Iowa farm boy. Steve.

I remember Scotts first skidder pick up at JBs place. Bobby trained him well. It didn’t take him but a hour max to get turned around and load it. It just seemed longer in the sun 😂 I bought and sold it to Schafer.

Maybe the camera lenses magnified intensity of arc.and why it was even worse just plain eyes!seeing how sharp that end ramp is on his lowboy god forbid anyone run into it they would be sliced instantly,maybe run some cut tires on end for a cap that could come off n on,might soften the blow to a crunch,rather than a slice,certainly wouldnt want that on my conscience,get better mr.wiley😊😊😊😊

You were a great addition to his lack of knowledge on most everything he did on his channel. Without you, he couldn't have done 1/4 of his will it starts. Look how long it takes him to figure out a simple solenoid on his lift 😂 and how long he took on a simple toolbox install. He's nothing without someone to hold his hand along the way! That's why he has his gd's on there now so the guys have some eye candy - for VIEWS! pathetic he is!
