Wow, how ironic that you posted this video yesterday and I’m having the exact problem I’m having as I’m trying to transfer my mini dvds to my one drive. You mentioned another cable besides the usb 1.0. That cable you showed briefly will fit into my Sony screen dvd92. What do you call that cable and how can I get one? Thanks.

Cable is the standard Sony rca cable that comes with all Sony cameras. You’ll prob have to buy a camcorder same model as yours to get the cable.

IIRC some PC drives can read not finalized discs. It may not be possible to finalize but you could be able to transfer digital data to PC this way without extra steps?

No. CDroller really is the only comprehensive software.

You gotta do whatever it takes to get a transfer sometimes. Real time is the long way but at the end you got the job done. You call it ranting. But your just being blunt.That most of transferring is not peaches and cream. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.

Sorry to ask again I have firewire players DSR11, JVC SVHS Mini DV deck and Sony Digital deck, a couple of cameras is this viable or is elgato the way to go

If your pc has expansion. Get pcie to FireWire card
@gotmemories16 күн бұрын
All depends on how much time you have. FireWire is higher quality, but time consuming and file sizes are big. Doesn’t matter the capture though if you have defective / worn players, the magic is in having pristine players and eyeballs and ears out for evolving problems which can happen at any moment with this old stuff.

Honestly, I hate MiniDVD format with a passion !!. But then again, I will say that MultiMediaCards MMC,Compact Flasgh (CF),Sony's Memory Stick, MiniDVD are all deteriorating in different ways and eventually the data will be lost to time. I realized how unreliable these formats were back in the day and stayed with tape up until Sdcards became available.

I have VHS tapes with recorded TV shows from 2005. These tapes were stored for over 15 years, until I bought a VCR during the pandemic. I was surprised to see that both the picture and sound were intact, despite having heard all my life that tapes erase themselves after a while.
