I tried this but my “safe mode” is just a black screen with safe mode written in each of the corners. How do I get past that?

Hi there, thank you for your question! First try waiting a few minutes to see if it fully loads. If it doesn’t, press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager, and check for any processes using a lot of resources. You can also run msconfig from Task Manager, uncheck the Safe Boot option under the Boot tab, and restart. Alternatively, force a restart and press F8 or Shift + F8 to access the Advanced Boot Options menu, then select "Start Windows Normally" or "Last Known Good Configuration." If these steps fail, you may need to trigger the Windows Recovery Environment (WinRE) by forcing the system to turn off and on three times; from there, use troubleshooting tools like Startup Repair or System Restore.
