Good job everyone, it always surprises me just how much force it actually takes to break the suction of just a few inches of mud.

Someone needs to design a tripod type device to act as a fulcrum with winch cables to pull up on rig as they pull. 😊😊😊😊
@jcar141721 күн бұрын
@@papatomsthoughtsI’ve used a spare tire, run cable along the top and down to lowest point on vehicle. Obviously the bigger and wider the tire the better.
@papatomsthoughts21 күн бұрын
@jcar1417 agree, but for these rescue rigs, something that can fold down compact and not possibly damage their spare tire could be an asset
@jcar141721 күн бұрын
@ that’s why they have trailmater ( and mini mater), MORR’s wrecker, rat rod wrecker and Eric’s BSF wrecker. There was a spare tire right at the back of the bronco. The tires are designed to carry thousand of pounds of load already, I’ve found if the tire doesn’t work you probably need a bigger rig or more rigging anyhow. In these situations you always have to evaluate risk/reward. A $300.00 tire might be cheaper than a $600.00 tow bill or a 10 hr wait in adverse conditions. Every situation needs to be evaluated.

That made a lot of sense I never thought about the lady said never use a snatch block for rope if it'd been used for cable. She's a smart lady. Nice how you all worked together.

And she was more correct that he was, it's not likely for there to be wire stuck in it, but burrs like she was talking about

Why do people only put a winch on the front, In my experience I usually pull myself out backwards rather than pull myself farther into a hole

that switch looks more like the one Military ended up using for years. More similar to commercial trucks than consumer trucks. Maybe yours are more similar to the commercial such as maybe "Series L" in hole switches (S=44x 22 mm / 1.74 x .8) ". There is an adapter to use common "Series V" which I bet is what that new one is made to fit in an L spot (V=.83" x 1.45" / 21.08mm x 36.83mm). Mic the openings??..... do believe Rome Truck Parts carries various series switches and adapters between them.
@papatomsthoughts21 күн бұрын
For the switch, I have used electric tape around switch back and made it tighter to slip into hole. I stopped buying the cheap switches and getting right ones at auto parts store. Good rescue guys. 😊😊😊😊😊
@HunterTodd-u5h20 күн бұрын
Wrap electric tape around the switch and push it in that will keep it from falling out
