I loved seeing how a "good enough" attitude could lead to a beautiful finished project, instead of extending this to a 10 hour video perfecting every line. This was informative and inspirational, despite not knowing much at all about Unity.

Thank you so much for making these videos. I don't know how many people you have or will end up helping with this channel, and even if I don't make a game your thought process helped me understand how important is to feel good about finishing something and the traps you can fall into when doing so. I hope everyone avoids those traps like being a perfectionist when time and resources are finite. Oh! And I know you'll be a wonderful and encouraging father and husband. Thanks again.

I have played a lot of video games in my life- I was even okay at coding at school but the thought of making a game from code seems awful to me, when I was young I would make Warcraft 3 (rip) maps a lot on the world editor and on Timesplitters 2 I loved making levels with very simple scripting. But after high school all I ever did was play games after that, I feel finding your channel is bringing back the memories I had and I always have game ideas you make me feel like I should at least give it another go among all the things I am currently learning thanks a lot for the inspiration!!

I don't think a single person saw your reference photo, as we were all too busy laughing at his name, Kyle Quakenbush, are you serious? Quack and Bush, ha ha ha, how did so many Americans end up with such funny names, surely their ancestors were asked to leave Europe as nobody else could get anything done as they were spending too much time laughing at their names.

Nice stuff ! I didn't know aura it's a good reference ! Maybe a 1h video is too long for something like that, I'm much more a fan of dense videos with step by step explanation of like 10 to 15min. I would recommend you to take a look into the format of Coding aventures from Sebastian Lague videos, maybe adapting this format to something else than programming would be nice. But great video again keep going ;)

“I will always choose a lazy person to do a difficult job because a lazy person will find an easy way to do it.” - Bill Gates
@tomdesmet72874 жыл бұрын
This ridiculous quote gave us stuff like windows 2000, vista and windows 8. I also completely disagree with the quote since IMO a lazy person will not put in the extra hour to automate the task. Having a 'good enough' attitude =/= being lazy.
@shortquts4 жыл бұрын
Tom De Smet I am not a fan of windows at all and yes you are right as well. I am also not saying he is lazy, I was just referring to the fact that he is creating stunning visuals in such a simple manner without having the need to take too much time. I myself am a lazy person in some cases but also a perfectionist on the other hand (yep, that’s possible...) I will almost always find a better way to a solution where others would spend much more time on. He is doing the same. He focuses on the most important parts and „cheats“ his way through other steps. Less time, stunning result. But it also definitely depends on your goal. Would be a problem using those tricks to create an rpg for example :)
