OMG Right! I had another nail tech cut my Hyponychium then tell me that I should have told them that they were high. I mean that is part of the job, knowing everything about nail anatomy. I was pissed. Then she tried to put the clippers back into her dirty box of stuff. I was bleeding, and she didn't know if I had HIV or Hepatitis. I had to say something to her. Then she got upset because I called her out for it.

Had that happen to me smh then when i asked to wash my hands because my finger was bleeding the nail tech said "NO! I already started" so i sat there with a bleeding finger and vowed to never go back. I love doing my nails at home now thanks to this girl's videos and others ☺

OMG..... I was FURIOUS as you told your story of your cuticles.... i am a professional ( and licensed) Nail Tech... and i got so pissed hearing your story. I swear some people.... I went to a nail salon once and the lady hurt me so much when she was filing and shaping my nail, my edges were bleeding so badly and I was flinching. She also licked my polished nails to see if they were dry... The first three nails came off that same night. I didn't go to a salon for eight years after that and now I have a really lovely and super skilled nail tech

omg i thought this was normal or just to have a little bit of stinging until I went to a different lady. She was like “omg they cut you up honey” I literally love her, I think she’s my favorite person that’s ever done my nails. She’s the owner of the shop and I got them done right before a school dance. Was really blessed to go to her, she squeezed me in and was like “Just call if you want to set up an appointment” And then we went into lock down smh

I started doing my own as well, tried polygel and powder dip. About to move onto gel nails, when everything gets delivered. I did it more for the saving money aspect however I feel like salons near me only cared about the money aspect and not the people! They wanted to see how many people they could get into the salon in a day!

I’ve had my cuticles cut so bad i bled before too. They put some sort of liquid on them to make it stop bleeding and whatever it was in my OPEN wound hurt so bad! The scab was even worse because it basically was a tiny deep hole in my finger, it was awful. I’ve done my nails ever since because of it too. At the end of the day you did a way better job and you can invest that money into nail care/materials that benefit you. I love your nails!!

When I was like 10 I went to the nail salon with my mom and sister and the lady when filing the part of my nail by the cuticle (don't know if I spelled that right) made me bleed. My mom never took me, my sister, or herself to the nail salon ever again. She started learning how to do them instead

People been wearing nails super long since the 90"s and maybe even before that. Its definitely not something new. Like CoCo from SWV had super long nails. Go check out their old videos. We been on this forever. 💯💯💯💯 Also it's best to do your own nails so you can have control over how they come out. People like to freestyle too much. It's hard at first but once you get the hang of it then it flows. The coffin nails are so 🔥🔥🔥🔥

I change my mind too much to do anything like acrylic so I just do my nails with regular polish, but if I did want to do something longer lasting in the future I'd probably just buy my own stuff and practice. there was a time in a salon that they filed the skin near my nail so abrasively, it made obvious cuts and i was bleeding during the service, so the nail artist wiped it with acetone and tried to put GLUE on my skin to mend the wound i guess? I’ve only had my nails done in a salon once for my brother’s wedding. And it was just a basic manicure with regular polish. The dude who did my nails didn’t cut my cuticles but was so rough with pushing back my cuticles that they became so red, swollen, and inflamed and I was like, Never Again! For some context, I live in a small town in Iowa (population under 200) and I have to drive like an hour to get even a 3 star nail salon, anyways there is this one salon that I always go to that is decent, but I’m young (13) and I play volleyball but my nails are super super ugly so I wanted some short acrylics and I told the guy this but he still tried to give me pretty long nails (like I could fit a quarter of my thumb under the nail) and he would always get frustrated when I would say “Oh I really need them to be short in case of an accident” and kept repeating I was a volleyball player. He continued to get upset while putting my tips on but when the job was done they actually looked super even and pretty so I wasn’t upset, I got him again after vb season and he just ripped the set I had off because I wanted to go back to long-ish nails. Like he literally pried it off instead of soaking, when I say it hurt it HURT. Anyways hope you liked my story 🤞
