Dude this was sick! I think we all have those beautiful early days effects we tried and failed as kids so this hit me right in the nostalgia. Awesome to see someone finally go back and right a past wrong haha and the sound mix is awesome too! Crunchy skull crackle ftw 💀💪🏻😁

great video and great effect idea. but have a few things that I would have done something different. 1. (2:48) you shoot but move your gun still. that looks a little funny. 2. (3:00) you gave yourself a glow effect on your skin and face but forgot that there is still a gun in front of the shot (should theoretically be a shadow). 3. (5:40) I would have blurred the effect a bit more. The track looks a bit too hard from the edges. 4. (6:01) the blood splatters look cool when you play the video normally but when you jump from frame to frame you see that the splatters are not physically placed correctly. but otherwise it's a really cool effect and i couldn't do it better so kudos.

Your early FX test reminds me of my own from the 1990s, except I had to use firecrackers and condoms full of fake blood. Good times.

Practical effects are very cool and I'd definitely love to try some out
@SewerTapes Жыл бұрын
@@driftingwalnut I never got too incredibly deep into it, but there's a ton you can do with next to no money. Anyway, thanks for showing your old FX test and transporting me back to a really fun time in my own life. Keep up the great work. I'm sure younger you would be proud of your current capabilities.

amazing bro, why u dont use after effects for bullet displacement? 😯
@driftingwalnut Жыл бұрын
Thanks heaps! I've been using Hitfilm for years since I had the free version when I was younger. I'm just very comfortable using it now so haven't made the switch to after effects.

How did u get the bullet to sink into your head??
@driftingwalnut Жыл бұрын
I used a plane that was aligned to my forehead and set it as a shadow catcher. So when the 3D bullet moves into it, it disappears behind it.
