I grew up in the rural suburbs of Rochester and really admire your tenacity in getting the falls so detailed! Cities is such a finicky game, sometimes, but I love it!

As someone who's part of a few communities around here, im really excited to see you get to the outerlaying areas around city center like south wedge, its my favorite part of town and id love to see it given a wonderful coat of paint. the Equal Grounds coffee shop, Abundance grocery store, and the Fredrick Douglass school are all local mainstays!

My dad was from Rochester and my gram and grandpa lived in Brighton near Eastbrooke Ln so I remember going there every summer in the 90's. So many fond memories going to Seabreeze :)

Biggest change since them was them beginning to deconstruct the inter loop. If this project could/would've been done 15/20 years ago, I wonder what suggestions could've been made on the inner loop as a whole.

I have been painstakingly trying to recreate Buffalo by hand after importing a height map. I had no idea there was an image overlay mod and honestly never thought to look for it. I feel silly. But I love this and I’m happy somebody else had the idea, because now I’m definitely going to look for that mod.

@@tillos_ I did use the one from skydark. I would say it’s easiest to do all at once along with the height map export so that you can be sure everything aligns to the correct playable area

@@GaseousStranger Just wanted to revisit these responses as I'm not sure how else I'd be able to ask you; My image overlay seems to be a much lower resolution than the one that you're working with, and I can't seem to figure out how to adjust anything to get it to look nicer. The resolution is so bad that a lot of side streets aren't even visible in some locations. Did you by any chance increase or decrease the total area of the heightmap before downloading the files from the site (or change anything else)? I'd love to know the exact settings you had before saving the files if you did, but from what you showed early in the video it didn't seem as though you changed anything.

@@tillos_ I actually just came across a solution for this issue recently! I believe this may have to do with the “texture quality” setting in the graphics settings Set this value to high, and the map should clear up. If that doesn’t solve the issue, let me know!

This is just a suggestion but what about creating bay city Michigan, I know it’s kinda random and unkown but it’s a cool town with lots of history. It has a big river that connects to the Saginaw bay/ Lake Huron and has lots of shipping. And it’s just a cool Michigan historic city

Thank you for the suggestion! I’ll look into it more as it sounds interesting and fits with the Rust-belt theme. For the time being though, I believe Pittsburgh and Rochester are my only planned cities for this series (Next 16-24 months)
