This film clip is inacurrate... in interviews Pete Townshend stated he knew of Hendrix's abilities and said the Who succeeded in negotiating to play before Hendrix, to avoid being shown up. Pete knew Hendrix's act would be a difficut one to follow. Pete did not act cocky to Hendrix like this film clip suggests. Granted, Hendrix felt he had to come up with something to top the Who's destruction theatrics the end of their set, so he decided to burn his guitar. And as per an interview with rock photographer Robert Knight, just before going on stage, Hendrix turned to Knight and said "you got film in that camera? You're gonna wanna photograph this...". And Knight did - the iconic photo of Hendrix kneeling at his burning Strat was taken by Knight at Monterey, after Jimi's tipping him off.

Almost correct, the fight was because The Who had heard Hendrix was gonna smash his guitar, which was their thing. That's why they wanted to go first. And it was decided by coin flip.

Yep - major league inaccurate. Wrong guitar, wrong amps. The alleged conversation between Pete & Jimi was backstage before the performance. This clip obviously uses much artistic license. Hey ho that's what history becomes!
