I am looking for a software to use for amateur carpentry, I am trying your web app on my iPad and after about an hour of playing with it and watching several videos I can not figure out how to set the dimensions on a square. ;(

This video is for SketchUp for iPad. SketchUp for Web is a different program with a different user interface. You should check out the regular Square One videos, as the UI for Web is more similar to the Desktop version than the one for the iPad. Also, check out learn.sketchup.com for courses on the fundamentals of using SketchUp.
