Want to learn how to weave on a rectangle loom, or refresh your skills? This step by step tutorial will show you, step by step, the "Right Return Method" of Continuous Strand Weaving! This is my favorite method for a simple plaid weave, and can be as creative as you want, just by changing your colors and yarns, and sewing pieces together! This method will work for any size rectangle loom with pins set for Continuous Weaving.
The video is a little long, about 1 hour, but I wanted to show all the basics so you will be able to continue on your own. It's a mini class, for free! Please look for my other videos, to find how to add fringe, and other ideas.

Thank you for posting this. I just heard about continuous weaving tonight and had to look it up. You explain & demonstrate it very well. The knot you used to finish it, I believe it's called a surgeon's knot. I use it a lot when finishing off my crochet & knitting projects, and hand sewing projects too. God bless you !

Your video is literally the only one I’ve seen that explains you’re working in squares so it’s an even set of nails to create multiple squares, been trying to build one of these looms because I want a huge one and oh it’s been frustrating. Thank you!

Hi TSPG47, thank you for the compliment! Yes, I learned that from the maker of my Hideaway loom, Roger, and it made so much sense to me! I would recommend going to his website for info on the pin placement, if you want to follow the "right return method" I'm doing here. He still makes looms, too, but limited. His site is "rectangleloom.info", and go down to the bottom of page and look for "Pin Formula, quick start". If you are able to comment on his site, let him know I sent you! I appreciate you watching my video!

Thanks so much for this! When my girls were all home we used to do a lot of square and triangle loom weaving with our angora bunny fiber but I haven't touched a loom for years. I've missed it and your videos make me want to get weaving again!

Thank you so much for this video. Continuous weave on the rectangle loom can be a very very frustrating endeavor but your detailed directions (yes I had to watch a few times and take out two separate starts to get it right) helped me tremendously. Now I currently weaving with ease on the 7' loom.

I am so happy you found my video helpful, kimcarver4624! I feel so proud of you to move up to a 7 foot and are weaving comfortably! That was my goal, to help show the right return method, because I love it, and it seems easier than the other methods out there. I did make a long video on a larger loom, also. I really appreciate you watching, and letting me know of your success. You made my day. Thank you!

Thank you. I just discovered this technique today and would like to try it. I did check out some shorter videos but they didn't make sense. Yours did so I'm glad you posted it. Also - there is a thing called a weaving needle looks like a yarn needle but is a lot longer, 5 inches. I have several - got them at a local craft supply store - and I use them a lot. I think they'd work great for that last little bit where the hook is too big.

Hi MC, thank you for the compliment! There are quite a few types of weaving needles out there, so use whatever you have or feel comfortable with. I just suggest it not have a super sharp point, it might snag or split your yarn. I'm glad my video was helpful! I have another video with a larger weaving that is called "Continuous strand weaving, right return method, the basics" please look for that one, too! I appreciate you watching!

Thank you Tabitha, for hanging in there with my irritating camera stand! Sorry about that. Glad you are able to make your scarf. I have some larger looms also, and they can take a while to complete. Just have fun with it and enjoy your results!

I wonder if these diagonal weaving techniques can work on peg looms too?
@thePacadashery
@thePacadashery 7 ай бұрын
Hello tomekaridley6371, yes, you could try this on a peg loom that is square, you need to weave diagonal corner to corner. The number of pins must be exact on every side. If the loom is rectangle you need to count the short side of pins, then the long side needs to be double or triple (etc) of the short side. Experiment and see what you come up with. Have fun with it! Thank you for watching, and your comment.

Thank you Latife Yilmaz, for watching and your comment! I would hand sew the edges together with a simple stitch, using the same yarn, matching the loops. You can also crochet a slip stitch edge first, or single crochet, all around each piece, and then connect them. I hope this translation works!
