Glad to hear. Yeah I was super surprised that I couldn't find a single video on people fixing the problem so I thought I'd throw this out there to help any way I can.

I appreciate the video. Great help on how to access the auger. By far one of the most difficult tasks I have done in a while. Getting the cotter pin back in is a challenge on it’s own.
@zacs5092 жыл бұрын
Getting it in was easy as I could just open it up with pliers and use pliers to pinch it tight again. Getting it out when it's not lined up is a helluva task though 🤣

Thanx man! Mine got wet due to 10 straight days of rain & the auger tube is packed w/wood paste! No way to clear it until now. Smoke on‼️

Thanks for posting. I followed your steps and got mine taken care of.

You can also pull the entire auger out by removing the white plastic thing that holds it in there, it is just press fitted, and maybe one screw holding it in there, I cant remember, been awhile, there was a video somewhere on here showing how to do it.

Nice vid. I did the exact same thing to my rt680 to break a bridge loose. Had to replace the motor because I broke internal internal gear teeth in the gearbox. Found out it’s the same exact motor assembly Traeger uses. Found it at a local hardware store.

Thanks for posting this ! I’m at the point where the unit is apart and motor off but the auger won’t turn or pull out. I think tapping it in will help ! Still going to be a bunch of screwing around but I’ll get it cleaned out ! Thanks again !

Yeah tap it towards the fire pot without it turning and then try to screw the auger out then tap it again towards the fire pot. That pushes all the caked up pellets in and free of the auger

This video is a visual of what a very helpful RT customer service rep described to me over the phone yesterday. The pellets of our bullseye have unfortunately now become a solid mass inside the auger tube. Do you have any tricks for removing the cotter pin? There’s not a lot of room to navigate in there. Thanks for this video!!

I can tell my auger is trying to turn. I’ve had my Bullseye about a year and not thrilled with the reliability. Have replaced the blower fan under warranty but not thrilled about having to open it up and work on it again.

I haven't experienced any other problems except for this one time it jamed. Even the last time it got wet I pulled it in out of the rain and ran it to dry out all the pellets just fine

I can’t get the pin back in? I don’t want to break it. Is there an easy way to get it back in???

Good video, obviously Recteq's design guys could have done a much better job thinking ahead about user problems and put in features on this product that would make clearing these common jams a lot easier.

Will this work on the 590 as well? I can't find a video on it
@zacs5092 жыл бұрын
I'm sure it's similar. I don't know how exactly to get into one of those.

I can’t get my auger to budge I’ve even been hitting it with a hammer
@timnelsonic5 ай бұрын
Unfortunately, on my grill, the auger is stuck with the head of the cotter pin facing down against the small plate, so there's no way to pull it out without turning the auger 90 degrees. Which, of course, can't happen when it's jammed. Anyone have any ideas?
@zacs5095 ай бұрын
Cut the pin out and replace it with a .50¢ one from the hardware store.
@timnelsonic5 ай бұрын
@@zacs509 Thanks, that should work.
@patrickc97685 ай бұрын
@@zacs509and how do you access that pin to cut it? There is about 1/4” between the front of the motor and the bushing to access the pin. Mine is in the same orientation, blocking it from being removed. I can’t think of a pair of cutters that will fit into that small of a space.
