I used to have the rectec 1000 (gave it to my son) ; I used it for so many meals - especially cool was thanksgiving where I would brine 2 turkeys differently and then slow smoke them together before the Family & Friends arrived - the Smokey taste was always excellent ; the longest cook I ever did was brisket for 18 hours at 200 degrees F the. The last hour turning it up to 500 degrees for a nice Char it was most excellent -

Some “cons” would be nice; an honest review gives the good and the bad. There had to be some things you didn’t like about this grill.

I have had a 1250 for a year and half with the smoke box. I use this 2-3 weekly and have over 180+ hours of cook time in all weather conditions. I did not think I would use this as often as I do. Bottom line is this grill with Recteq support is amazing. I have had no issues with wifi. The cons ~ The wheels suck. I store mine in the garage and pulling into and out of can be a pain. Not having a pellet dump can be a bit of work so I normally only load 20 lbs of pellets at a time. The temp thermometer is on the left side of the cooking chamber and I have had to use Thermowerk probes to get the right side temp (It cooks a bit hotter for me going from left to right eventhough the firepot is in the middle). Overall ~ I looked at Weber, Trager, Z Grills, and Pitboss. I made the right choice for me. The smoke box attachment yhas been great allowing me to use it as a warming tray and smoke cheese fish etc.. Hope this helps.

Great review. Does it have a pellet dump?

Reqtecs do not. They don’t because they want to stop as much moisture as possible from getting into the hopper

@@Ares_dA_K1nG I could see that but it must be a pain to try and change pellets. Also, do you know if you can get a regular handle instead of the horns? lol. Not a fan of
