bike was bogging down at 45mph so new air filter , an oil change, new spark plugs and a new voltage regulator.

Thanks for the video! I have The same problem, and I know my regulator is faulty. I have focused on the carbs - did the regulator fix your problem with the speed?

@@RipenDK hi it did improve matters but I continue to have issues that are carb related.

Is it also bogging down on the center stand with high revs with both a coldish and hot engine.

No it idles and runs fine until under load. Goes great until around 45mph but when checking the battery whilst running the voltage seemed a bit low. I suspected the bike wasnt getting enough charge to maintain the spark. Will test ride tomorrow and do a follow up. Hoping all the work ive done has worked. Fingers crossed !

@@studiotwentyfive Have you done a compression check? If its been sitting for years the piston rings might not be sealing properly. Close to 14 volts is what the R/R should be putting to the battery with high revs. I would expect some stuttering if the R/R was not working right . Viragos have a great engine.

Compression check and carb diaphragms on my list of things to check. Great wee bikes when they work 😁

@@studiotwentyfive Living in America now. I have the rarer Virago XV1000. Great engine and sounds brilliant. I had to convert it to a single carb manifold because the original twin carb slides were beyond repair. Great bike but weighs a ton.

I know the virago 535 had problems with the carbs icing up and were recalled to have a modification done.
