It is so enlightening to be able to review this aspect of our miraculous bodies as i am a devoted (but slow) somanaut. I recall asking about the '6 pack' in the A-Z series and you were just as exact and comprehensive when I joined. I will keep on keeping on!

My fascia damage I felt multiple layer opening I feel fascia twisting very heavy sticky gluey is scar tissue adhesive I did a lot of therapy it didn’t work I am suffering almost 2 years . I don’t know what to do. my question? Does fascia heal by it self or need Cortizone injection . Can you please help me I’m watching your videos you are expert in facia I watch Dr. Robert from Germany but I cannot reach him if you can help me what therapy should I do. please reply to me I really need your help. looking forward to hear from you.

Hi Angel! I'm sorry you suffered that injury, sounds rough :( AND, there is Always hope! I am not a physician and I hope you are under competent and qualified care. As one human to another, you might consider adding to your therapeutic explorations some scar tissue release work from a competent student of Alastair McLoughlin, these folks do wonders: www.mcloughlin-scar-release.com/alastair-mcloughlin or if you are in the Pacific Northwest you could track down Sharon Wheeler or any of her students: wheelerfascialwork.com/ These are both folks who have explored scar tissue release for 40 years apiece! Best wishes as you explore your healing path~

Thank you, Gail. I appreciate your respond. I live in Los Angeles. If you know anyone in LA who is expert releasing scar tissue please let me know. Its really hard to find someone who is expert in facia and releasing scar tissue. Also, do you know any ultrasound device that shows fascia damage? It doesn’t show any imaging that I have done. From your experience, do you think kenalog (cortisone) injection help with dissolving scar tissue or does it make more scarring? I really appreciate your help ❤️🙏

As a Vodder Therapist, this really helps with the working concept of lymphatic watersheds. Ipresuming the lymphatics follow the arterial routes, is this correct roughly? Also, do you know if there is a correlation between a "wrecked" abdominis post pregnancy and x C section AND lack of pyramidalis? Thanks
@somanaut
@somanaut Жыл бұрын
Hi Fi! The lymphatics often follow arteries, yes, and also they are very much accompanying the autonomic nervous tissues, in addition to the more "famous" clusters. Thanks for watching!

Curious what happens to repair muscle after a surgical procedure how well does it mend?
@somanaut
@somanaut Жыл бұрын
They can heal remarkably well actually, and, sometimes surgeons are not as careful as some and damage the tissue in a way not easily repaired.

Is there a test for the pyramidalis muscle to know if someone has it or not?
@somanaut

I lost way too much weight once and could see mine, but I don't recommend that "test!" I do not know of any...

Are men more prone to hernias because their fascial sheets are generally thinner?
@somanaut
@somanaut Жыл бұрын
Hi Yasmen! My undergrad anthropology professor, Matt Cartmill, made exactly this argument, but put it terms of thickness particularly of the superficial fascia, arguing that this fatty fleece when thicker afforded protection for bipeds against hernias. Skinny folks in general, and skinny men in particular, are definitely statistically more prone to inguinal hernias!

There are many approaches in the bodywork field to support healing DR, I hope some professionals will chime in here for Kelly's friend!
@knpilates
@knpilates Жыл бұрын
Hi Kelly, as Gil said there are many approaches. I have worked with clients to help improve their DR through specific Pilates exercises. But no matter which modality your friend might want to go with, there are a few dos & don'ts that are universal. Let me know if your friend would like to find out more :)

How fascia-nating! I'm curious if the pyramidalis contributes to the reason why some people have a more pronounced pubis mond. I wonder if pyramidalised people have that characteristic long snakey torso look or if it's easier for them to keep their lower belly from paunching out.
@somanaut
@somanaut Жыл бұрын
Hmm interesting thoughts to ponder! I think mons deposition is variable along with other patterns of fatty distribution, I haven't correlated that to the pyramidalis, one more thing to look for :)
