I hope it's not as difficult to build as one velomobile owner claims...He tried to build 1 or 2 and said they were nowhere near as light or nice as his factory made one....$18 to $20K is crazy !!! I thought it was more like $10,000 new. I would pay $5,000 on payments if it had storage room behind the seat for a decent amount of groceries. I'd add electric assist so I could cruise at 45-55mph on country roads into town. Then slow down to normal bike speed in town. Even at $5000 if it could replace a car for transportation. It'd easily pay for itself in gasoline savings. I don't understand why they can't reduce production costs by 3d printing & using something besides carbon fiber that's still pretty lightweight & durable.

@michaelbrinks8089 I like your ideas, and that would be up to the trike owner since this is just a 3 piece enclosed body. I personally went down the electric assist rabbit hole. In fact, that's why I bought the 06 catrike speed with a Lunacycle mid drive 48v 750 aph with thumb throttle... that trike is 1 inch off the ground 😳 in using the thumb throttle shifting through the rear gears, I got it up to 53 mph, and then the front wheels did the speed wobble. I found I originally wanted the assist for those need to have moments, but realized I found myself pedaling less. The extra weight & and the sress it added wasn't worth the want. My now recumbent trike has a mountain schlumph drive ... in my opinion, that's what you want. Clik of a button with your heel engagement and another click disengaged... easy, & less weight. Just my thoughts... also, have you ridden a trike at high speed ??? Kinda sketch 🤔... This body is only meant for year-round enclosed protection from the weather. Like a honda Accord, not a corvette

@@Brian3680 add green slime to the inner tubes and it'll act as a tire wheel balancer at high speeds. So if a non balanced wheel/tire is the wobble cause at high speeds. It'll be gone.

Another idea 💡 is homemade kit cars are actually easily to get registered & become street legal.....I know a velomobile like vehicle with a $250 125cc 4sp 4stroke motorcycle engine could cruise at 55-65mph in one with 100+ mpgs

@michaelbrinks8089 ya, that's not my concern, I just want an enclosed body for my recumbent trike. No license is required. Strictly pedal power. But good luck with your build 👍

@@Brian3680 ya, I'd much prefer a no license, registration, insurance vehicle that I can ride but can also go fast by taking advantage of legal loopholes.
