Are those red wood blocks to keep the side strips aligned? How are they constructed? Alignment is often a problem when making curved laminations.

Hi Ronald, the small red cedar blocks are there to save timber. As you probably know if you use one piece for the rail band it needs to be as wide as the rocker or alternatively scarf the rail band to suit, on this board it would need to be about 6-7 inches. So by using the small blocks it reduces the band width down to between 2 to 3.5 inches, helps with the alignment prob you mentioned and they add a bit of colour to the rail. I cut a little angle 2-4° on one end of the bands so they follow the rocker. Hope that makes sense ✌🏼🙂
