A basic tutorial of how you construct these sleeping bags would be awesome!! Others could then become part of, or join others, in this brilliant and compassionate upcycling. compassionate move

Omg, this is so moving. What wonderful women. I viewed the video because I reacted badly to the title thinking it wasn’t right to presume homeless people should have ugly quilts or could have the ugly quilts, how wrong I was and what a lesson learnt. I was particularly moved by the prayer and I am not a committed or practising Christian. So Thankyou and may your endeavours be blessed.

This is so so awesome! My hats off to you beautiful ladies. I myself make "Hats for the homeless" each year is to have 150 hats ready to go by October. Even though we are in Florida, the nights are very chilly in the winter time. I am 72 years of age and homebound so this gives me something to do that makes me feel like I am helping someone. Your sleeping bags are just beautiful. This gives me an idea of something I can do also on my own to be a part of "People helping People". Thank you for your inspiration. Hugs and blessings to you all.

You can ask furniture stores for the fabric store books of fabric or discontinued sofa etc fabric .. they are happy to part with those books .. we make over night bags with smaller books of them .. s Sometimes even fabric manufacturers will give you samples or bolts of discontinued fabrics as well .. keep up your good work .. I m sure you are doing a great service to your community.. you are loved also ... ❤️👍

I cried. Thank God for gentle souls like you. Having experienced homelessness as a result of the economy at 74 I was not treated with such kindness. Am educated but made a very poor investment. Life is not always kind. Was so humbled listening to the stories of the young people. You ladies are like a warm blanket wrapped with love

I always wonder what the recipient does with the winter items when summer comes. I make gats and gloves for the homeless and think about a collection event so they aren’t carrying them around all summer. Could be washed, sanitized and redistributed when fall comes.

My family and I have been there ( 1 paycheck ahead of homelessness). Children never knew how close we were. My husband and I are both college educated and our sons are too. We are ok now, thank God. It was frightening then and things are still frightening, but we persist. Good retirement if no tragedy occurs.

I’m sure you could contact the St Paul’s United Methodist Church on their website or contact Friendship House on their website, they list their information at end of video. Most shelters would love to receive more quilts or donations.
