Good review. I just bought this pack about a week ago and I was left a little underwhelmed with it. I also bought the 12-hour and like that one a bit more.

Thanks! Same here. I wasn’t initially excited about it when it showed up, but it grew on me after using it for a few weeks. 12-hr seems like it might be small for my frame, but may have to give it a shot.

Nice review. The front access really makes that bag and it looks very well made. A little simple for me but it does seem versatile.
@Pack_roam5 ай бұрын
💯agreed. Front pocket is definitely what makes the bag. And its very simple, which is part of the appeal for me.

I'm actually not sure these are all made 100% in the USA anymore. The wording on the website was changed to say it contains "USA-made materials" and isn't actually saying the bags are made and sourced here.

@@Balthazar2242 Yes. I’ve noticed the wording on the website has changed so that would seem to be the case.

They're definitely made in Asia now, likely China, and they don't even have proper tags which is illegal in the US. It's been over a month and many don't have their bags from the MCB drop. RF will likely be shutting down after this latest failure given it's now the second big drop in a row that he botched.

They are not made in the USA, buyer beware with this company, you've been warned

@@robbymichael-l4t I've got a Goruck that was made in vietnam. Its been 4 years and it looks like new. Just because its not made in the US doesn't mean its bad. That being said, I've heard some people say there's been issues with quality. I like mine though. I got a 12 hour I bought about 3 months ago. Its treated me well so far

You said made in the usa but I understand that to no longer be the case can you confirm? Also is this a paid review or did you buy the bag? Thanks!

I bought this bag. Got it on sale, and it came with 2 free sergeant wallets, which I already have one (and love it!) so I’ll probably give those away as stocking stuffers at Christmas or something. It was a promotion they were running recently. I did NOT get paid to make this video. As far as Made in the USA, I’m going by what their website says. I don’t believe there’s anything on the bag that says whether it’s made in the USA or anywhere else for that matter. I’d double check, but I’m on the road this week and don’t have that bag with me. I believe all Recycled Firefighter bags are made in the USA.

@@Pack_roam thanks for the reply. how is the comfort of the laptop compartment when you have a laptop in it on your back? is it waterproof as regards rain? Thanks!
@Pack_roam5 ай бұрын
Not bad, there’s padding behind it but no frame sheet so you feel it a bit more than a GORUCK bag for instance. The 1000D is going to be water resistant, definitely not water proof. I haven’t tested it in the rain but I’d suspect it would hold up pretty well for a short period in a light rain. I’d be concerned in a downpour. Again, haven’t actually tested it though. Little bit of light rain is all it’s encountered on my back. Are you debating between this and another bag or bags?

@@Pack_roam RFF has been outsourcing the production of their bags. NOT MiUSA. But RFF does state they use USA material (not sure how true that is). Compared to their old stuff, their new production stuff feels less quality. Definitely go Goruck route if you want quality; if you want cheap/value, go RFF.

They are losing alot of business in the bag community as they are cutting corners and not even using YKK zippers now.
@Pack_roam4 ай бұрын
Interesting. Was surprised the zippers weren’t YKK, very smooth zippers nonetheless. What else have they changed as far as cutting corners?
@robinsingh14454 ай бұрын
@@Pack_roam not made in USA, padding on carrying handle is gone. YKK zippers switched and people are saying that material is thinner than what it used to be
