This does work...did it for quite awhile Only downside is the pure alcohol will eventually start eating the finish on shaver. Usually starting on the back. I know they sell a blue fluid at hair care supply stores like Sally's..barber's use it to sanitize combs....might not cause damage...not sure if it's better for shavers.

I just bought approx a litre of barber side disinfectant for £6. 🎉

I put my blades in a pillow case and put them in a washer for an hour and they are clean as new then I put them in pillow case and stick them in a dryer dry within mins and good to go I also spray some wd40 afterwords on them to oil them or motor oil to lube them and I charge them but some times when am shaving I just imagine am on holiday while I shave it takes my mind off shaving but if am to lazy I get my friend to shave me and pay him for it

You need a few drops of essential oil (lemon?) to lubricate the blades.
