Wow, I thought I was the only one who did this. But I suggest you to make some drainage holes on the bottom part to drain excess water (these type of masks usually water resistant). Otherwise, nice video

Hey!! Can i use this at the bottom of a container to cover the holes before adding soil? Will it drain effectively?

Good question yes you’d probably need to put a few drainage holes in.

Not really, from my experience, they started tearing apart around 2-3 months. Also some roots may penetrate them

I think they are just for starts. In 3 months they probably need to be replanted in a bigger pot. 🙂🙃🍀

I wash and save my surgical masks. When I have enough, I am going to cut them up and use them as stuffing for a throw pillow. My COVID19 pillow!

You can never recycle a disposable surgical mask even with bleaching. It is called disposable for a reason.

The masks are made out of fleece, which is made of polypropylen, a synthetic fiber. If masks are littered correctly, you can recycle those fibers! Some companies already work on that, because the trash ends up in our environment and pollutes the oceans. They´re cleaning the masks, shred them into small pieces and transform them in to a raw material.I am doing a research on this topic right now and I find it very interesting! :-)
