Once you blow up a naval yard, just place one of your subs on top of where the naval yard was built so they can't rebuild the naval yard

Good game. Its a masterpiece mission i love it, many thanks for madHQ. My first try i didn't use sea attack much mainly land units its took me 3 hrs but my second try i used the middle Lake, you can reach the two first canons, green con yard with half of his base and half of orange base without using any super weapon just few Dreadnought and some protection. That's why I told you before its useful, overall nice game i enjoy it.

One thing I noticed in the nuclear strike video is that there's something in it that doesn't appear in the original or reworked mission... 1:11:56... that tower above and to the left of the Chronosphere is a Gap Generator! (Also a Construction Yard is there)

Nice to see the campaign coming one full circle. I'm here to see how you approach sieging the several AI bases - the effectiveness. How you'd snipe Con Yards and how much time you might waste with Dreadnought pounding shore defences which since get rebuilt anyway. Let's see. 1:07 Not really. The early Chrono attacks on your base happen around the same areas as OG mission 12 - look out for the groups of rocks - I recall reading the walkthrough in an old 2000s PC mag - and they recommended Tesla Troopers and Sentry Guns. These attacks don't seem to come afterwards anymore and only come on the initial. 1:18 You got this. Flak Troopers were also recommended for this mission due to the high number of Rocketeer, Harrier, Carrier/Hornet attacks. If I recall correctly, planes aim for your Ore Refinery and Tesla Reactors, Rocketeers typically go for your Radar or Barracks. Later on you may transition to Sea Scorpions which will hold your island pretty well. Alstar's replay was lacking in the early game AA aspect - he again went heavy on Naval and too early idk why - there's this expectation that naval maps require early Naval buildup - not true. A lot of the Subs that Alstar built ended up not being used for the rest of the game - Alstar seems a bit adverse to building Squids which work well here and in OG mission 12. Squids disable Carriers, are fast scouts, cannot be C4-ed by SEALs. Amphibious drops can be handled with Squids, tanks placed at shoreline, Yuris, or Flak and Sea Scorpions - because Allied transports have light armor.

In terms of rebalancing this mission, they should've disallowed weather control device, otherwise you can just easily win by Nuke + Weatherstorm at the same time on the Chronosphere. Even without the Weatherstorm, you can just build 100 rocketeers or 20 allied airfields where blue construction yard is and send all the rocketeers or planes to the Chronosphere.

Late to the party but damn, finally got to the end of this campaign, and I must say this reworked version of Polar Storm is a sublime treat, really feels like the last remaining Allied Stronghold left in the entire world, so of course it's gonna be a tough nut to crack.

I recall playing this during my elementary years and reading about this mission in the manual/walkthrough. Never forgot the beggining of it: "You start on a little island in buttom right corner and the allied base is ... the map." Seeing this rework made me relive that lil' good memory a bit because DAMN did MadHQ took that idea to heart!

I don't understand why people seem to have an obsession with the Prism Tower feature. Why must the game be made so easy - it's the Allies last stand like someone else mentioned. They're gonna overhaul the Prism Towers, even use President IFVs and Prism Cannons if they could before going down.

Also, I like how that last cutscene shows the nuke launching at the Chronosphere. Yeah, I don't think putting down the cover is going to stop a point blank nuke strike (OK in-game (or at least multiplayer) the Chronosphere can take a nuke... but that's regardless of it's powered up or not)

Okay. One last time. First and foremost. This was a gem off a mission, with some good design decision. Like giving every enemy an inland shipyard, so that they continue producing transports. The absolute relentless attacks. The continous chrono blockades as well as the strategic placements off grand canons. Very well done. Designwise I have nothing to complain about this mission. The things I do critizise appear more like bugs or oversights, than designflaws. Fun as it is, having lightning storm as well as nuclear rockets gives you the option to 1,2 punch the chronosphere. Not realy my taste. Maybe increase the HP off the Chronosphere so that that cannot happen? That being said, I'm in favor off giving the enemy access to the lightning storm. TG already mentioned it, that it appeared a bit weird, that the enemy never used the chronosphere by itself or launched a land attack. There were only ever the triggers with the teleports and that it. And lastly the Green Player playing Wall-E. Thanks for playing TG. This mod definitly goes onto my "must play" list.

Yuri's squid giants are vulnerable only to the allied attack dolphin.... which they use quite a few of them. In my opinion using about 10 subs and 7 squids should do the job of taking over the sea. Once you blow up a naval yard, just place one of your subs on top of where the neval yard was built so they can't rebuild the neval yard.

4:03 Nice that you handled the first assault with Conscripts. High tankability but low DPS that take too long to handle the IFVs hence you lost the Ore Refinery. Look out for the groups of rocks, Chrono attacks appear there - I recall reading about that from the walkthrough in an old 2000s PC mag - in the OG mission 12 the first attack would have been that spot too - and likewise appearing at some grouping of rocks. Even if you didn't replay OG mission 12, just taking a look at vgmaps of this level you can see where the triggers are placed. 5:10 Nice that you handled the second assault with Conscripts again. After that you should have moved them to the last Chrono spot - another grouping of rocks. 5:53 Hmm this seems different from Alstar's replay - I recall the SEALs just swimming in from the opposite coast rather that come in from an amphibious drop. And they come in at an earlier timestamp. And they also come in over a few waves - but in your replay we don't see the SEALs again for a long time. 7:37 That was a bug and your mistake was not to capitalize on it. You should have known stuff will pop out from that amphibious drop so it should have been left alone there till there's enough firepower to burst damage down all the occupants. What if SEALs came out? Tesla Reactors would have all been C4-ed. 7:54 same thing - that transport never even unloaded. I would have just built walls at the corner there and exploited the bug so the amphibious drops might just continually gather over the water - for me to sink them all at my leisure. 10:14 same thing - but now the amphibious drop pathing was re-routed elsewhere. 14:27 Nice that you finally positioned an Apoc at that corner - when most of the action was already over. You need to look out for patterns and get a sense/feel of repetitive AI behavior - situational awareness. Like someone mentioned in a comment on an older video - you don't even need a Psychic Sensor to figure out pathing and attack lines - 😁 I saw that Alstar had his Flak Tracks double as shore defence for amphibious drops - I wonder if he came close to discovering the Flak Track's power or whether it was accidental - Flak Tracks win the day because the Allied transports have light armor - but you already knew that. 8:21 at this juncture you should prepare an Engineer as an emergency backup for repairing Con Yard - I saw Alstar's replay I think MCVs are even unlocked in this mission - get a backup. 8:35 Same bug here - the lack of space is constricting amphibious drops and even airdrops. 9:40 but your approach towards the Carriers was right - as long as you got AA they can't do a thing. I'd rather you concentrate on holding your island with AA than build naval too early and too much. 11:36 Compared to Alstar's replay, the Rocketeers in your playthrough seem to stream in over several small waves. Alstar's replay had Rocketeers from purple and green sync up and coordinate to come in together so the skies were colorful in green and purple. 12:03 Why build so close to the derrick? If it goes kaboom, the Battle Lab might go. 13:07 In control yes, but I felt your Sea Scorpions came too late. In my OG mission 12, early Sea Scorpions helped me control the game even earlier. Because of the concept of intercepting attack lines - you don't wait for the air units to arrive at the targets and position AA around the target. You position AA in a line along the attack lines - they fan outwards - not wait at the target. Excess Sea Scorpions can even double up as defence for amphibious drops since Allied transports have light armor - but Squids may be even better. 17:04 Speaking about Sea Scorpions, they can even help to tank for the Subs when facing Destroyers. Don't let Subs tank the Ospreys - very painful to watch. The same PC mag I read mentioned that Sea Scorpions turn Allied navy into "sitting ducks" because they highly rely on naval aircraft. That stuck with me forever. 19:56 I was afraid it would come down to this charade. Yes - Dreadnoughts can pound away all they like and promote, but it doesn't advance the game. Realized after so many playing hours doing what you did that Dreadnought just need to clear the beach-head so you can land your Apocs and do the real invasion earlier. That's all. Beyond that is pointless time wasting. 26:00 You're never knocking out their power this way - just land your forces ASAP. 20:45 Good to see you're taking steps to move inland - but I don't see you building up your Apoc numbers neither were you starting on your Iron Curtain - instead you went Nuke Silo idk why. Were you saving up your cash for Rocketeers and Prism Tanks? 22:51 OOOH! The Prism Tower bug! Nah - just a feature. The campaign designed mighty Prism Towers to be that way. First beam took out 120 health, second beam did away with the remaining 680 health - means outside of campaign, with the normal Prism Tower, there would have been 4 chained up - 120+200+200+200 for 720 damage. 23:12 That's because you sold away the Tesla Reactors to clear more space. You removed your own protection which was needed for invoking the airdrop bug. But quick thinking - nice that you used those Flak Tracks - so satisfying to pound infantry with Flak. 24:26 Second Nuke Silo and still no buildup of Apoc numbers, idling Iron Curtain, no buildup of amphibious transports. 🤣 28:09 Yay - invasion. Let's see whether you figure out how Chrono attacks can be baited/kited. Alstar did an amazing job at that with Iron Curtained Terror Drone scouts and Rhinos. Really awesome play from him. Saving another comment to be continued for your inland invasion.

A fun and challenging mission where you can't just spam Apocs/Prisms. The former are outranged by all advanced defenses so you HAVE to IC them to protect them, and the latter are extremely vulnerable to enemy Chrono attacks, and get outranged by the Grand Cannons anyway (which Apocs can handle better) as well as defeated by cliffs. They could both cover each other's weaknesses well, but in a blind playthrough it's pretty tricky.

Just curious, why don’t you just leave a sub or a squid in the water where the AI tries to build their naval yard so you don’t have to overuse other units. Instead of using 8 subs to force attack a location you could just leave one in the build area to make it unbuildable

I am unsure what causes the AI to build their weather control devices? I had three separate AIs in this build them....blue was a lot faster in building their weather control device in mine as well, like 15ish minutes in on the default game speed compared to your almost 40 minutes here. I felt like I had to keep pushing to stop them and didn't have time to just sit back and keep using my own super weapons.

Look out for any backup MCVs they might have though. 39:30 40:11 40:40 42:57 Still building Tesla Coils when you could do the Prism Tower chain - 41:05 43:50 Oh so your choice of sniping Con Yards is by using double superweapons - Alstar used Iron Curtained suicide tanks - more brutal and suiting Soviet playstyle. 41:21 Landward attacks are not quite dead - Alstar received several triggered attacks along the long cliff with the Grand Cannons - Green and Yellow if I recall correctly - you need to move inland to that area to trigger those waves. 46:04 Why no Prism Tanks? Nice video edit. 48:31 Notice the sheer overkill - the Apoc rounds continue hitting the occupants who all receive the damage and die on the spot. 49:21 Lol the Subs continue pounding at Blue's naval yard spot even after the Con Yard is down. Check for backup MCVs. In fact before I used superweapons, I would have attempted to check and see if I can use elite Dreadnought splash to destroy their Con Yard - I saw you didn't even check - that's how I cheesed OG mission 12 - unlike others I didn't cheese with Rocketeers. I simply used elite Dreadnought splash to hit the g-spot. 51:27 My point exactly - you give up as long as the targets are out of range of the Dreadnoughts instead of checking to see if splash can reach. 50:23 Finally some Prism Tanks. All that unnecessary waiting. Will you use Chronosphere on Prism Tanks and Dreadnoughts to reach and hit targets inland? Oh, you didn't have the Chronosphere available. 58:23 Handled slightly better than Alstar - he sent his tanks to die to the Prism Towers on the cliff. maybe because he didn't have SpySat. 58:56 Lol I think you noticed the chained Prism Towers. 1:00:55 Lol what's with those walls? AI bug. 1:12:33 I've learned something new. Since I don't main Allies I didn't know that.

I keep carriers alive to farm the planes for leveling AA up, and I station 2x squid next to the allied shipyard, they just jump anything that spawns instantly, saves a lot of macro so I can focus on the mission.

I think you can stop their production site like shipyard or any building by placing 1 unit in same place as that production builded, but at some point you still need your units to get veteran/elite first

U should have rushed into Battle Lap for Reactor and Yuri clone in the early game. Mindcontrol a Seal and C4 their Aircraft Carrier and build Shipyard ASAP for Scorpion to deal with those air swams. Overall, the mod should have kept sending chrono units to the base like in Flipped missions campaign (i.e 3-nuclear-silo map). Some allied tanks also couldnt enter transport and ended up stuck in their base. Those allied bases should have built their own Storms to punish us turtling on the island. Scripted Harriers should have focused the Oil and Dolphins should be roaming the Sea instead of Destroyers.

I had never seen these reworked missions, interesting. However, for being the last mission, i don't see the difficulty or the stress a final mission should give. 😅
