Red Alert 2: Yuri's Revenge - Testing Guardian GIs

Guardian GIs are units that were added in the expansion pack. They are available to all the Allied factions at a price of 400 resources.
Main role of the Guardian GIs is to deal with vehicles which they do quite good once they are deployed. In their basic form, Guardian GIs seem to be equally in strength with undeployed GIs though no one uses them in that form.
Most common combination is when Guiardian GIs are used inside a Battle Fortress, which was also added in the expansion pack, making it a really strong unit against tanks. Since Battle Fortress can survive lots of damage and it's quite a fast moving vehicle it becomes a very annoying and hard to deal with unit.

Actually... I found through my own testing that the best Battle Fortress load for taking out buildings is 5 GIs. They do significantly more damage than GGIs.

Meanwhile in Mental Omega: Guardian GI: Where's our Machine Guns/Assault Rifles? Commander: Yeaaaah, Military Budget Cuts, so you will only be issued rocket launchers instead. Seriously, after playing Mental Omega for so long I forgot Guardian GIs carried Machine Guns. Side note: Keep up the good content dude. Makes me smile.

Depends on if the guardians are deployed or not if deployed their range is nearly equal and 40 esc missles will vaporize the seal. If the guardians are attacking with mg they will all die however

@@AnumaElish no guardian mg is the weakest weapon on any producable unit ingame. They wont kill him since he outranges them and kills them faster then most could approach him close enough to kill him.

They all get damage boosts inside the BF. Makes sense as BF is way too expensive for its DPS.

If you chk the rules, you'll see that the GGI has the same weapon as the normal GI when not deployed.

Main benefit to rocket mode is that they ignore walls which mg doesnt however you can still destory walls with rockets then use mg on it

across the board, Guardian GI wins. Elite-wise, a Guardian GI can 1v1 an Apoc, while a normal GI can get it around Half-health

You replied on my comment about testing chaos drone , but it seems like you don't want to. But i still want you to test it. From what i remember, chaos drone also works on own units causing friendly fire and increased attack rate. U should try to make a video of it.

I've received tons of requests about chaos drone and I said the same thing to every request. Yes, testing it would be nice but it doesn't affect your own units. I don't know about modding a map and it would be hard to test with a second player.

It seems that GGIs' missiles deal more damage to armored units than to structures due to different armor types. Guess their damage type is AP. That'd explain why they don't hurt infantry much. Weak, dealing about even less damage as Grizzly tank shells. Apparently RA2's version of Javelin missiles, being mainly anti-tank, but much weaker... Their assault rifles are weak too, with the same damage and range as GI's machine pistols. An unimpressive unit unless garrisoned

Who uses GGIs in online matches anyway? That unit has many flaws: Slow, Low HP, No Armor, Weak Firepower, Loses in unit matches fairly much to anybody, is a Prey for Naval Bombardment units, Aerial Units, Terror Drones and T3 Tanks. At the very least Tank Destroyers, despite lacking anti infantry firepower, can still crush them and is also tough.

@@Kiwijr2579 The only benifit really have if they're inside an IFV is that their anti-tank weapon is mobile now and can out-range(and outrun) Rhinos and some defensive structures.

чем то на тесла-солдата похож, медлителен также, против техники. только тесла сильнее бьет. ну и также неплох против немецких танков. ---- А в Guardian GI мне нравится, что радиус стрельбы ракетами огромный. как ПВО хорош, и против танков. А ветеран становится сильнее: больше скорости атаки, радиус огромный. И IFV-танк вместе GI имеет еще больший радиус.
