I remember that mission, I always found and destroyed the naval yard, then kept a sub in it's place while unloading tank troops on the beach behind their base, since they couldn't put the naval yard where my sub was, and they wouldn't place it anywhere else, it made the mission much easier

It's odd the the victory conditions for this map don't include destroying all the civilian buildings and their allied units, given that the text briefing explicitly says you must do so.

Awesome tactics and execution. Tried the same, but was to slow, so a bunker already was built inside enemy base. But I was successful in my second try. Unfortunately, you cannot do the same speedrun tactics on 8a, because enemy base is already established there from the beginning. Love to see a speedrun/walkthrough for that, too.

Unfortunately stealing the construction yard isn't often very useful because on most maps the enemy bases are already established, so I was happy to find a use for it in this one :)

Tried 8a 10 times already and 10 out of 10 I got defeated by having no way to get more money. The map layout of ore and such heavily favours players with rush tactic and good tank control, something I currently don’t have. 8b on the other hand is like a cakewalk in comparison: more money, easier map control and enemy attack is a bit more manageable (Tesla coil kekw). I just start to lose hope of ever getting all bonus galleries unlocked. :(

Yeah the layout on 8a is a little bit unfair. You could always get more money by waiting until the ore on your island grows, but I guess you don't have enough money to defend if you do that.

This is too easy, even on 'hard'' compared to the openra version of this mission. The allied base defenses, destroyers and unit waves are non existent here.

The enemy base is so small because I capture the CY before they can build most of the structures, and I finish the mission before the destroyers arrive. I defeat the first enemy wave, and for the second wave I intercept the enemy transport ship so it doesn't unload. :)
