Will these dyes work on sanded bamboo?

Hi Sarah! Awesome, thanks for this! Being a noob and wanting to try this for the first time, beginners question: you start the process when the fabric is still wet after being washed right? Or do you dye when it's dried?
@sarahshinkewski50154 жыл бұрын
Gracia Visscher I went ahead and dyed it wet.

How do you make it stain darker & permanent?

Hello! This was a very informative video. I'm wondering, how has the color held up since you posted it? I have only just started playing around with plant dye and am still learning about mordants and fixatives etc. I love the flexibility of cabbage but it seems to fade so fast.

It fades because cabbage extract is a stain, not a dye. These colours will wash out if laundered or get wet in any way. An enjoyable experiment on pH changes. But this is not a dye-process !

Hi. I have a purple clothes just like the red cabbage but my clothes color has faded, is it possible to make the color of my clothes more purple with red cabbage water?
@sarahshinkewski50154 жыл бұрын
Kpop for lifeu My guess would be that it would probably not work very well. The cabbage dye is very pretty, but is best for artistic purposes, as it fades quickly after being washed.

No. Don’t waste your time Don’t waste your cabbage For permanent colour on clothing, use proper dyes. And choose carefully. Some dyes are for cellulose (plant) fibres in fabric. Other dyes are for protein (animal fur and fleece, like wool, angora, cashmere, alpaca etc)

hello, do you add vinegar or salt etc when stock is cold, or while still hot???

@4:22 you called baking soda, baking powder!! Theres a huge difference in the effect they would have!! Use baking SODA not powder. Also cotton should be washed in washing soda not laundry detergent
@elisabethfoley-teuben91802 жыл бұрын
Did you know that cabbage extract is not a dye? It has no value as permanent colour changer. It is a stain. Like mulberries 🤭😳😵💫😢
@ImGinaMarie2 жыл бұрын
@@elisabethfoley-teuben9180 yes, technically it stains as does many foods, and plants!
