That’s a gold ingot Edit: to be clear a gold ingot is worth $300 and a gold bar is worth $500, also the glitch can be done much faster if you just run over the hill at the front of the town until you’re roughly 20 feet from the train tracks and then turn back, respawns consistently, you also don’t need to kick the ingot out, just need to move it, if it has moved it is good to go.

Also, you don't need to climb on that box next to the gold. you can run up that stool and you will jump right on top of that table.

You have to finish the story, and since you play as John for the rest of the time you play the game after the story, you can then enter Blackwater since Arthur has a dead or alive bounty in Blackwater from a failed bank robbery but John doesn't allowing you to enter Blackwater
