Ya Greg this is a prequel and u play as a member of Dutch's game and if u look closely u can see John at different points in this. At the campfire with Abigail and young jack. And at the end walking towards Arthur in the train robbery scene

Fun fact about this game: It’s a prequel to the original! You play as a member of the gang that John marston hunts down and kills in the first game, and the gang you have is that very same gang.

No, i mean you're right But since it's from the REDEMPTION series it's the second one in the serie, first red dead was Red Dead: Revovler then came Red Dead: Redemption and now Red Dead: Redemption 2 so it actually is the second one since it's in the redemtion series but i mean you're right, just delete the "Revolver" and "Redemption" from the games and it is "Red dead 3".

You have to remember, you get to play as Jack Marston after abigail & John die...John dies first of course then i think Abigail dies from sickness or age. Then you play as Jack because he got older of course...Then he seeks revenge and kills the director of the FBI (forgot his name) , but yeah jack seeks revenge and kills him for killing his father John...So for RDR 1 it was a cool little feature and it was awesome...RDR 2 is obviously a prequel !

It’s set 12 years prior to the first Red Dead. John Marston is a supporting character in this game. If you remember Dutch, that’s the leader of the gang and John and the new protagonist Arthur Morgan are both part of the game. You should check out the second Read Dead 2 trailer. Super fuckin cinematic and dope as shit. It actually shows John in the trailer. Without a doubt this is my most anticipated game. Rockstar doesn’t ever really let down with the immersive gameplay and great graphics. I recently replayed Read Dead on my Xbox One X in 4K and it didn’t look bad for coming out in 09 or 10.

RDR2 takes place 10 or 15 years before RDR. Way before John Marstons son was even born. Sorry dude. I wish the game took place in the 1870s or 1880s. When there were Indians running around attacking settlers. If I was designing RDR2 I would put two Indian tribes in the game that hate each other and you have the ability to be friends with one tribe or the other. The one that you’re not friends with will try to kill you on sight. I just think it would be cool to ride around and come upon teepees and Indians dancing around a fire and hunting buffalo.
