Actually, studies have shown that violence like that in video games actually helps contain people with violent/murderous tendencies. It gives them a kind of release for those feelings in a safe place that doesn't hurt anyone. So it doesn't really 'feed' it. It's more like it 'calms' it.

I love this game, but if they thought these kinda thing were hilarious, then they should see a therapist. And don't let this video put you off Tyrone...you don't need to be pyschotic killer in order to play this game, the gore is just a small part of the combat system. I been playing GTA since their beginning. I have gone on rampages in the game. I can distinguish a game from reality. I am not immoral in any way. But I do believe games can play a role in human psyche. But for someone like me who can feel and comprehend emotions I could never imagine causing harm to another. A game is a different reality for me because I know the game isn't real. BUT I don't think I can kill innocent people in Red Dead Redemption 2. Because it seemed so realistic and horrifying for those people on train or that nice old man saying, "have a good day." It gave me a sad feeling for those ppl. I am not too emotional though because as I said before, I can distinguish between reality and fantasy. I think it is best to keep these games away from children or ppl with mental instability but that isn't an easy feat to accomplish in a country like USA.

Just like people resort to attacking punching bags to let out their anger, same thing can be done with playing aggressively inside a video game, either way, no one actually gets hurt. Just like you might grow emotionally attached to video game characters, movie characters, books, anime, whatever, and enjoy a scene when a character goes on a rampage during an intense moment in the story doesn't mean you'd enjoy those same violent scenes in real life.

There comes a point where a game tries so hard to be realistic that the murder hobo playstyle becomes really unsettling. This is one of em. Like in Saint's Row, specially 3 and 4, it's real fun to go ballistic. And in Fallout NV there's a certain merit to playing the psychopath. Heck in PlaneScape Torment and the og Fallout 1 & 2 it's actually a great roleplaying opportunity in there. But this game cuts too close to reality. Historical Setting plus high fidelity graphics really aren't a good mix when it comes to players being free to go apeshit.

I kind of see Tyrone’s point, I love Rockstar and the GTA/RDR games but ppl who play the game just to viciously murder NPC’s are borderline psychopaths. Yeah the parts where they kill innocent people is disturbing even if it is a video game. It makes me think of the real mass shootings we have today. I’m sure if actual survivors or families that lost someone to that type of violence saw those clips it would strike a chord.
