Rockstar wasn't in charge of developing the port for Red Dead. It was Double Eleven Studios, the same people involved with Fallout 76, Crackdown 3, Console Edition of Rust, AND Minecraft Dungeons.

This was my BIGGEST hate on RDR2 Online, they tried to follow the GTA Online formula.. I remember how disappointed I was when I found out horse wild taming/selling, robbing npcs and legendary animals (at the time) were all removed. RDR2 Online should have been more sandbox, with little to no restrictions. Private servers with custom rules, in-built trainer menus, jobs and clothes that didn't cost gold bars (Remove gold bars alttogether.)

yeah i'll never understand why rockstar thought that would work for RDO when they are SUCH different games. While GTA does have the occassional chill mission the overall gameplay of that is high octane zooming and guns and bombs ect. While you CAN do that in RDR2 its not what the majority of players do as the game is very clearly focused overall on realism and immersion, RDO would have been so much better with chill immersion based jobs ( shopkeep? instance-based large scale cattle drives ( to prevent player trolling )? farm activities? all these things that are already in the game in the first place!?! ) rather than 15 different forms of "shoot the other guy" or "shoot the animal" game modes lol

The gold bars concept was so stupid to me when I first started playing RDO. You already have a currency in the game! It's not difficult to get although it could be a bit time consuming, but there was no point in adding a different currency system. Even if they just wanted to milk us - which, of course they do - they could've just had an option to buy cash 😂

I've been subbed for a while and showed up to an RDO clown protest about 4 years ago. Your commitment to red dead is admirable. Sucks we won't get online restored but I'm just happy us PC players get to experience the singleplayer. Some friends haven't even experienced the first game since they are PC only.

They gave the original so much love and it has a lot of content and co -op mission ! also When I was younger rdr1 was the best for roleplay you could make up crazy stories with friends like red vs zombie John 😂 also the undead overrun zombies are still fun there actually spitters and crawlers not just a re-skin of existing assets for call to arms

I never had a playstation or xbox and so my introduction to red dead redemption 1 was when it released on switch a little bit ago. I was genuinely impressed at how good that game looked! You're definitely right about it being quite pretty. The animations ( especially horse animations ) are a little wonky here and there but graphically the game looks way better than you'd expect from a slightly polished version of a nearly 15 year old game haha

rdr2 is my second favorite game ever but i still haven't played the first one. i got my living room setup this past weekend and plan to hook up my ps3 and play rdr1 soon, probably in November. very excited! I'll have to check out online when I'm finished.

People gave me shit when I said rdr2 online was going to flop because it followed the gta online formula. I remember. Called me a madman and saying its only in beta as an excuse. If a CEO says they are using the most fun things of gta online and porting it to red dead online 2, then you know it's dead in the water. CEO's don't know anything about what is fun because they see what statstics makes the most money. Rdr2 glazers got what screwed hard and you can honestly blame gta online for that

I loved that game, spent 2010-2014 running hard in there. Max level is actually 250 (or the equivalent) - 50 is the top but you can "pass into legend" which restarts you back at level 1, but with a new badge and mount. This can be done 5x, so the highest level is "5th Legend Level 50" (or 50 five times). That's where you get the zebra donkey, hahaha. Loved that mount.

I miss the gang missions from Red Dead Redemption 1's Online mode; that one where you and your posse loot the gold mine was just a hell of a lot of fun. My friends and I were playing it in 2021 on PS3 before we finally got fiber optics installed here and I switched to Stadia. =(

When I played that, I switched to hardcore lobbies only almost right away, and never looked back. Not that I am a very good player. I am not. But this made it a level playing field while adding the extra challenge and control of not relying on auto aim. I wish that was part of RD(2)O.

I’m wondering if there will be any multiplayer mods for the PC release. Even just porting some assets over would be cool. On Xbox you can even join empty LAN lobbies while offline. The Undead Nightmare mode for online was amazing.

The max level is in fact NOT 50.Those who have actually played know that when you reach 50 you turn legendary and start over. You do this five times then you max out. Then you get a zonkey not a zebra.

I'm really sad about that RDR1 has no multiplayer. I always liked online aspects of R* games. In gta5 i got my online char to 430+ lvl and In RDR2 I got myself 220+ rank. It is a grindy but I like to introduce new people to it and play with them. Asking 50$ for 14 year old game and cut out multiplayer is beyond greedy.

I used to play the hell out of rdr1 online for the free roam pvp which I was one of the best at on 360, but then I switched to GTA Online, and after that mess I hoped RDO would be more like RDR1's...

what I like the most about rdr multiplayer are the golden weapons challenge, reach 100 headshots and you get the golden gun, unlike the rdr2, of course it´s not a big deal, but I personally want to remark that.

RDR1 online was so good. Poker, missions, deathmatches (starting with duels), freeroam, undead overrun etc... it was so awesome. It makes me hate everything about RDO.

I like in 2 online that you can only see other player when you are near them but a nice feature would be to choose between the two so if you want everyone can always see you or only proximity view also in xbox I constantly run into players evertime I play I see at least 1 or 2

On xbox there are only 2 lobbies at any given time. Mostly filled with people who have jailbroken 360s and have mod menus. The rest are doing a glitch called "bypassing" which allows players to spawn with the explosive rifle and a full deadeye meter. Rdr1 pvp is dead and has been on xbox for a long time.

thats because people mostly rely on deadeye and ability cards to stop the bloom. in red dead 1 you dint have all that cheese, you just point and shoot and the bullet hit where it aimed. sure all the guns felt the same but it gave you the reason to pick what you like and not what has the best accuracy since they all were a hitscan laser beam.
