The Series 2 dvd kept the same drive room as Series 1 for their dvd menus, even though they had a different drive room in the Series 2 episodes. I don't think they intended for it to reflect the specific series itself, but mostly just to give it a more uniformed format within the theme the series had, so they could group and contrast them better (1-2 as the military/ocean grey one, 3-5 as the officer's quarters one, 6-7 as the starbug one).

well i think it was the case as they couldnt afford Motion Control cameras for the shots and had to do fly by wire shots

Plus they couldn't afford to shoot the models on 35mm anymore like they'd done in the previous 6 series and therefore shot on 16mm instead.
