Red Dwarf was the most awesome of Comedy Sci-Fi's. You guys are all legends and I loved every single episode and have the box set on DVD including the Dave 'Back To Earth' which was based on my favourite Sci-Fi movie of all time Blade Runner. Very cleverly done. I would have loved there to be a movie of RD but alas that may never happen. Here's hoping though. Thanks for sharing your memories of this great series.

Robert, Your viewer figures had an even bigger impact on some sections of the community. At the time I was working at an ISP, and we could see the precise moment Red Dwarf started as our user figures dropped by about 90%. Thousands upon thousands of techies across the nation logged off at exactly the same time, sending paniced staff running around thinking there was a major telecommunications fault. Luckily, us engineers knew better ;)

I love that I'm the same age as Red Dwarf so I get to celebrate along with it! ^_^ A fantabulous show; it's such a shame about the movie. That would be (and, with an enormous amount of luck, still could be) one of the best films of all time. Keep the vids up, Bobby! You're a treasure! .x.Sess.x.

Not pointless at all, Robert! I find that very interesting, being a Red Dwarf fan. I just love that show! I didn't like it at first, but it grew on me. It's nice to see Chris Barrie, on the screen there at least. I'm as much of a fan of his as I am of you and I'm curious if you guys ever get to hang out once in while. Make a video maybe? That would be so cool!

Where have those 20 years gone? I remember the 1st ep originally being shown, I even remember a trailer for ep1. Funny thing was that only a few people at my school watched the first series. It was like some little cult we had to ourselves and it was such a long wait for that series to come out on video or repeated. Series 2 came around and everyone was watching, but we were there first! Thanks for making me feel old Robert!!! Happy Birthyear RD

You went through alot, make up wise. Congrats, very well done, you may say its been too long for a movie, but I think it would really be a hit, mabey its just because I love it so much as do loads of fans. I ve had a little film experience as I helped out as a runner and a helper behind the scenes of the Turner brothers film"the divide" which was made in Ireland. The Turners are from London, and the film will be out 2010. Its their first feature film, which is a comedy horror. Keep it up.respect

A friend of mine lent me video tapes of Red Dwarf when I was in high school, back in the early 90s and in a very dull part of the northeastern United States. I was hooked from the beginning. I didn't see--because he didn't have it--the episode called "Kryten", so the first Kryten I saw was His Llewellynship...and I actually had a brief moment of terror because the make-up was utterly convincing at first. I was like, "WhatinHELL am I SEEING???" Still love this show, years on. Great TV. :)

I would imagine it's because it's stuck on to his head so securely with special make-up glue that ripping it straight off could potentially harm Robert's skin or at least irritate it severely.

LOL! well i REALLY hope & pray that there is a red dwarf moving coming out in the near future! :)

I think it was during the 10 year anniversary in which the Patrick Stewart commented that he was watching the tele one day and RD happened to come up. At the time he thought it was a rip off of Star Trek. Apparently he was going to call his studio before realising the gloriousness of RD. But really how can you say RD is a rip off of Star Trek. It's like saying Eragon is a rip off of Star Wars (:P)

I really dont understand why the BBC dont want to make a series 9 of Red Dwarf or help with a Movie. As you say it was the most watched BBC2 show EVER and they still dont want it. But its fine for stations to keep making boring safe programs like cooking programs and reality rubbish. Also ok shows get movies like The League Of Gentlemen and alright Kevin And Perry. So why cant the boys from the Dwarf get a movie. I think Doug should ask for fans to help donate money because im sure we all would.

Not being funny, but, if To The Manor Born can have a Christmas special last December which was about 70 million years after it went off our screens, then I'm sure RD can have a movie, even if it was tv only. Maybe it could be given away free with 'Coronation St The Movie - MiniCab Planet Terror' Craig would be quid in!

Red Dwarf is a really curious thing to watch, mainly because it has aged far better than a lot of the other comedy of the time. I just hope that Doug Naylor decides to do some specials before it's too late for everybody. If he leaves it too long it'll have to be Sons of Dwarf and that just wouldn't be the same.

Great video. Thanks Robert! I hope Red Dwarf does get a proper send off, one way or another. It seems bizarre to end a show which was at the height of its popularity on a cliffhanger. Thanks for your part in all the enjoyment the show has given me and my friends.

seem's a shame about the movie, but still, if it can ever be made i hope it does, beside's, even if you do get older that could be writen in the script like "it's been 20 year's scince red dwarf exploded, the entier crew (exept for lister, kriten, cat, and kochanski whose pods get damaged in space) finaly reach earth, only to find humans have evolved, and the crew are shot being mistaken for mutant's", i don't know, it could work.

Red Dwarf was part of the best times of my life. My 20's, living in Montreal. All of my friends and I were huge RD fans. We'd convoy our cars across the Vermont border to volunteer at the PBS station, manning the pledge drive phones when they aired Red Dwarf marathons. PS. Loving your new Electric Car Show. About d*man time. PPS. Just visited England and SO loved the people. Even in London. As nice now as my last trip 20 years ago. Not sure we can say the same. Shame mode.

Late one night, I was channel-surfing and happened across the PBS station. I saw an android trapped in some wreckage and watched in amazement as he removed his eyeball and his hand, attached the one to the other, and sent the whole thing off for help like some freaky cyclops-spider thing! As the next few minutes unfolded, I was confused as hell, but instantly hooked. It was so bizarre, I couldn't look away! Thus, Kryten was my introduction to the best TV show in the world. Thanks, Llew!

Honestly, I think the fans of the original show would still tune in for a film...or a TV movie, or a DVD. It's just been so long since anybody DID anything with the show. I mean, there was a time where every other week had somebody talking about doing script read-throughs or somesuch, then...nothing. I just sort of lost track of it all. What about a TV special...do they still do the Children in Need specials? Doctor Who did it, why not Red Dwarf? Can we do it? ...and IF not, WHY not?

Downhill...... are you mad?? I loved series 5 and 6 but it didn't end there or go downhill... it just went up the road abit. Our expectations were so high for this series that we missed the fact it was still a great show. I love it. I will always love it and 10 years, 20 years, 30years after the last series, I would still pay my hard earned cash to be the first through the door to watch the movie. Movie ,Movie, movie. Bring it on I say.

I think Red Dwarf was partly successful because of the mixture of different story's with each episode and series.I think a movie would destroy the Red Dwarf name because I cannot imagine 2/3 hours of one story captivating the audience somehow. If ever it made a comback it should be as the series we all know and loved.
