Not convinced that a third runway at Heathrow would make much impact on economic growth anyway. I have been wracking my brain to think of any industry where they have ever announced that they would be able to expand and grow their business but can’t because Heathrow only has two runways. I don’t think there is one. Much the same as I can’t think of any business which has complained that the train journey from London to Birmingham is too slow by fifteen minutes so they won’t expand until billions are spent on HS2. The main evidence for economic growth from a third runway at Heathrow comes from a document that the owners of Heathrow commissioned; amazing coincidence …..

The thing is Miliband is one of the few in Labour who you could say is intelligent. He may well not agree with you and he may change his mind, but in government you can't get away with using idiots for every job. You have to pick someone as well, and it's really a case of he's the best they have. Mandelson is a similar guy. He has some big red flags, but he also has a brain. Transforming Britain's energy supply is a huge undertaking.

As with most Labour politicians they will change their policies to keep their jobs. Principles, no we don’t have those. Jobs and salaries, we will do whatever to keep those. The truth, what’s that?
