I still think there should’ve been an ancient Egyptian version of Joey with Red Eyes being his ace monster. Which would parallel modern Joey’s journey of potential and greatness

I think Joey not having direct ancient egyptian roots is better but another character that is trying to unlock the potential of it would be neat

@ I can see that argument. But my take would be ancient Joey from poor peasants or something but wants to more in life and with a strong friendship with Atem, he sees Joey as a potential guardian of the pharaoh. After a journey of losses and triumphs he passes all the tests, awarded the scale item that sees one’s true self (good or evil) along with his ace monster being the Red Eyes Black Dragon. Think it can parallel the modern day Joey with loses in duels and also wins during his journey to being one of the best duelists along with Yugi and Kaiba

I feel like the rivalry between the Red-Eyes Black Dragon and the Blue-Eyes White Dragon are similar to that between Joey Wheeler and Seto Kaiba, since we’ve always seen Kaiba insult Joey from time to time yet Joey does whatever he can to redeem himself and prove to Kaiba that he’s capable of being a great duelist just as much as Kaiba already is.

Hmm though its not very legendary for classic beatsticks there were 11 stronger vanilla monsters and if anything Tri Horned Dragon is Blue Eyes rival counterpart because its attack was 2850 the clossest dark vanilla comparable to the BEWD.

It's not really all that powerful. I always hoped they'd errata, changing its stats to 2700 2300 so it wouldn't be a complete joke. 2400 was always too low for a level 7. It was completely useless when it was new.

I don't get how blue eyes was considered rare in the show and there was 4copies of it, yet only one red eyes. Also I'm still waiting for a red eyes ultimate dragon

i think its because dark magician is 2500 and redd eyes need to be lower than our main protag.

@@easymixedsignals534 I disagree because Red had the 2400 atk in season 0 and Yugi never used the DM until duel monsters. Yugi never used DM in the original story and anime.
