Hi Doctor My Girl she’s 8 years old and she’s been with this pink eye for almost 2 months she gets it for 1/2 weeks then it goes away for almost 1 week and after it comes back again what can I do! She’s been to The doctor and hospital and they just give eye drops but they don’t work 😔

Try returning to the same optometrist. When the condition comes back, since they know your child’s history, they can better troubleshoot and try a different treatment.

My 5 year old son has allergic rhinitis and he always has itchy eyes n nose. He always rub his eyes like he want it to peel off the problem is his always getting conjunctuvitis after rubbing i dunno if its viral or bacterial because there is no discharge just red eye and mild swollen eye lid

Could be cellulitis rather than conjunctivitis. Cellulitis in/around the eye is extremely scary. It can spread behind the eye into the brain. This happened to a friend of mine. We went to urgent care and they said “get her to the ER NOW or we will call 911 and have her taken by ambulance.” She was walking and talking fine but had some discomfort for sure and a very swollen eye/lids. The hospital had IVs going, but had to use needle aspiration to get rid of the liquid in her eye. She was admitted and in the hospital a couple days while they got treatment under control and made sure it didn’t spread to her brain which could kill you.

I should say that swelling is definitely a sign of conjunctivitis as well but definitely watch the symptoms.

If we use contact lenses It stop being red eye 😓

It's interesting that you mention that! Some red eye cases can get worse with contact lens wear. If the contact lens seem to help stop the red eyes, then maybe you are dealing with allergic conjunctivitis. It could be that the contact lens prevent the allergens from directly contacting the eyes. To confirm diagnosis, however, best to check with your local optometrist. Hope you find out the true cause soon!
