Yes young people please embrace this teaching, it’s life and death of your emotional, financial, and physical life if you aren’t equally yoked. Honor your gut if red flags come up bc God is showing you. As a believer I tried so hard to stay in a toxic marriage with one who’s deceitful, an addict of inappropriate videos, no money management. 27 years later my self worth was destroyed, no retirement, never had emotional or physical intimacy even though I asked and brought it up so many times over the years. Now broken by divorce. You cannot change anyone else and you will grieve that the one you love won’t recognize their issues and submit all to Christ. And yes he attends church and would say he’s a believer. I can’t even explain the pain our children have gone through as observers of this dysfunction.

So he attends church but does not have a relationship with God? Isn’t being sanctified daily? This make sense I lived this way for a long time in a 6 year relationship with a man that made excuses. He’d lie, was an addict, and would watch inappropriate horror movies called grunge house movies. Over and over he’d want to watch these movies and it would get really old after a while. I was in a lot of weird relationships like this where I’d give my all. Now I’m in a relationship where we are trying to put God first he’s trying to get his business running and I’m trying to find my calling. Kind of funny because we have somewhat of the same testimony. I’ve been contacting churches to help him share his testimony and he’s going to help me with google videos so that I can learn how to teach special needs participants online. If one person isn’t willing to grow and the other person is trying to fix that person it usually won’t work. God comes first and church comes second (along with church family). But as I continue to spend time with him I’m wanting to spend more time with God more then anything. So yes it’s very important to put God in front of the relationship. If the relationship is solely based on attraction it will also lead nowhere which is why I’m finding that I want to glorify God more and continue to serve. Luckily God is opening doors for me where I am able to serve.

Had to learn the first lesson (be attracted to character) and the last lesson (sex outside of marriage) the hard way… speaking from experience - don’t over look these!

I love all the stuff the porch releases, and am thankful that I get the privilege to go back and listen to this wisdom. May God continue to bless America so we may pursue THE truth about all of these super important life topics!!! The youth NEED this and love that the porch preaches to young adults! Thank you!!!

Some of Us attract people who are broken... and we fall into forgiveness and grace towards them. And that I am NOT "perfect" therefore we extend that too much.

This is such a great sermon about dating & recognising the red flags. 🚩Looking back to my last relationship this truly let me understand that there were all the red flags he mentioned. This really opens my eyes.

If a man is so godly and good he can lift a woman up no matter how broken

Sorry but only God can do that! I don't think marriage is doable in this broken world! I know I don't want it for me. For others I wish you the best.

I don’t know is it really all that important to be Facebook official? How is that a red flag? Should people really be concerned about Facebook? 🤔🤷♀️ I’m on the fence about this it’s a huge step because everyone then knows and it’s kind of embarrassing does the world really need to know that you’re dating online especially those that don’t even talk to you? Think about it your church knows, your friends know and everyone knows everything about everything. Lol! That’s pretty scary to me. 🤷♀️ I don’t know I’m 37 so maybe I’m just getting older and could care less about Facebook.
@jelgervandam36502 жыл бұрын
I think he's joking about the Facebook official! I think it's more important that the people around you that care about you know about your dating life, than all people (for example, in church) you don't even talk to. But why not tell everyone? If all is well you can be proud of your relationship.
