I'm actually doing this *EXACT* color change! So how light should I get my hair before doing the "color wash?" I notice with the longer I've had this red in my hair, the longer it's taking it to "fade out." It doesn't look as bad fading like other colors do (on a positive note). Hello! I'm a cosmetology student currently and I learned that blue/green tones can tone out red/orange tones! So, what you did with getting a blue-ish/violet toner along with the bleach-wash was perfect! I have respect for you; Also, I will be trying this on my hair! Hello my doll..You are the first girl I've seen to do the bleach wash using shimmer lights shampoo(mixing it with the bleach)..I do that and so not sure why others don't ..they will add clear or white shampoo but not the sliver lights to the bleach..so in all I'm glad to finally see a vid with this process done:-)

Ps..I do pretreat with organic coconut oil...which I leave on before I do the bleach wash...just a FYI;-)

Love this color on you, just dyed my hair too the other day I used Ion Sky Blue with a mix of Beyond The Zone Tipped Up Turquoise!!! It came out similar but with more blue :)

I have a question about going from a faded red to a golden brown with highlights...do you recommend doing a bleach wash and then depositing the color? would I use the same shampoo that you used in this video?

I am in the same situation as you, unfortunately she didn't reply so I'd share what I have been watching so far. It's best to use the lower vol and let ur hair rest (days/ weeks with intense treatment) and bleach again. It's slower process but safer and better. And works same as higher vol that is quicker but more damage.

it'll lighten it to a brassy orange or copper color after the first bleach bath. to strip blue I've had to do 4+ rounds of bleach baths to get it light enough for a red dye to take properly over it

The vitamin c didn’t do much for me, head and shoulders and baking soda helped and soaking my hair for 10 mins in hot water got a lot of color out. Trying to go blue or purple 😂 my poor hair
