Why not just play it in Eb?

Because nobody ever wants to tune to Eb, except for some wild Slayer session (also it's played exactly the same way in both tuning, modulo one fret)

@@Fearskill If you watch the music video, he's playing a half step down in Eb. I'm sure most people learning the song would prefer to play it exactly as John does. With modern phones nowadays, it takes 40 seconds to tune from E standard to Eb. Also the riff at 1:29 isn't correct. It's double stops. Not single notes.
