That background is so touching. The cars outside represent the population and society. The movie posters represent a big hits of a long gone era. The time on the clock and the tv with the PlayStation represents staying up late trying to entertain yourself, and for me, staying up late feels like I’m in a different dimension, as everything feels so far away. Overall very beautiful background, makes me wanna go for a drive at 3am listening to this song.

You know, it's almost a bit funny. When I first heard the original song i was probably just a baby (Born in 2002) In my life this song had always been there, so it was nothing really Special, except for a childhood memory maybe and until I really started listening to the Red Hot Chili Peppers a year ago I didn't really care about it. The chords may be sad but they remind me of the summer days when I was just a little boy who spent his time enjoying the holidays with his friends. Little did I know that life would repeatingly Challenge me with depressive episodes as I get older. In the context of my years as a Teenager the song always reminds me of that one girl I really had Feelings for. She probably likes Californication a Lot as she listened to 90s and 2000s rock music everytime i saw her. We became best Friends and as she noticed I wanted more, things just got too complicated to continue. We cant even Talk one word to eachother, even now a year after we both graduated. Our paths splitted and we didn't ever See eachother again but to this very day I haven't spent a single day without thinking of her. She was one of the best students in our class, i was by far the worst but we were still in the same room, listening to the same teacher. Now she studies in a university and I do factory labour as I had a depressive episode last year and didn't get a Job right after I graduated. As this doesnt look good in your resume i didn't get a well paid Job. I know I'm only 20 but sometimes it feels Like I'm trapped in these Low wage jobs for which people Look down in you for the rest of my Life. To get back to the video, as I look around the Video Background doesnt look so different from my room. It's late at night, i sink in my anxiety while looking at the tv that is on for some reason, the console that didn't really give me Joy in years now, band posters from my younger self of bands that all looked so young and dynamic when I was a child but have all grown old by now, a guitar amplifier I didn't use in months and in the middle of this messy room theres this twenty year old in the Body of a 40 year old who is still a little helpless boy on the inside. I didn't really find a Lot of joy in the last 7 months. Now as I listen to a different Version of the song I think I really get what Kiedis wanted to Tell us all those years ago. Just now as I hear John's Solo I start crying because it hurts so much to finally Fully understand this masterpiece. A Week ago I've seen the RHCP live in Vienna. Due to my current depressive State I couldnt even really get excited even though they are currently my absolute Favourite band that keeps me going every day. Your Video however shows me that I cant be the only one struggling. Stay strong soldiers. I know what you are going through. You'll make it. We'll make it together. Thank you for your time.

The day before yesterday i broke up with her, i dunno but i got lose in her eyes, i just want to do right things, i just can´t believe life sucks. I just wanna live a quiet life. without worries, i´'ve been trying to do that, this lockdown got me crazy, Mom can't sleep very well, I just wanna be happy again. i'm not depressed, i just feel empty. It's weird that I'm only 23 and feel like my life is already feeling so close to being over. It feels like I've made no progress. I have a girlfriend and make okay money but I feel like the mistakes of my past and people left behind are at the forefront of my mind every night.
