The peppers use can’t stop as an intro song nowadays with a ~5 min jam before. I can’t help but to say this gotta be one of the best intro songs for a live show ever ever ever. The hype it brings is insane.

I think this song it's hard for Kiedis for moving around all the time. He keeps focus on his breathing and trying hard for remembering the lyrics 😂. So he takes the solos for jumping around. Anyway, as a fan I'm used to it. Greetings, David!

It's interesting to me that John strums that main riff. I always pluck when I play it. I hope somebody prioritizes some new RHCP soon. There are some good tunes on Unlimited Love and Return to the Dream Canteen

An excellent live version of this song the one at Alcatraz with the intro jam; there’s a whole lot more stage energy in that live performance; I’m surprised that this wasn’t the one recommended haha

My friend and I went to see RHCP a few weeks ago after I had won tickets to their show in Hershey PA and they exceeded my expectations. The stage energy was great except for John but he played beautifully all show so I can give him a pass on that. My only complaint was I felt they could have rocked for another 20-30mins, the show was a bit short and they left out some hits but they were great for the 90 mins that they played.

Their concerts are always 90 minutes, give or take a few minutes. But I agree, they could play a few more hours!😊

11:40 There is a song called "Leverage of Space" and it's considered a hidden gem. Sadly it doesn't have a studio version and they played it less than 10 times during that 2004 tour.

I get your point with Anthony, but John is going pretty hard before the backing vocals start and in between vocals. But, he's doing vocals most of the song. It is hard to keep track of though, because the camera work is horrendous. It's all over the place. To be honest. I think Anthony's memory is a bit cooked, from all of his drug use. He does spend a fair bit of time looking at the autocue from this period of time onwards.

Interesting live choice, not their most polished performance. Slane Castle live version is certainly better. Worth a watch in your own time to compare.

I think Anthony tends to be more still during live performances of this song because the song is so lyric heavy. I think he needs to keep his breath as much as possible to get through those long verses. Just my thought. Anthony is normally a tremendous front man who dances & moves around a lot. Love the RHCP reviews David!
