Flea said that the energy in the band was starting to feel dysfunctional, or something along those lines. So, it was a natural thing for John to leave the band. It wouldn't have been right for him to stay if he wanted to leave. I guess I can just appreciate the 5 magical albums that Anthony, Flea, Chad and John created. They'll always be my favorite RHCP albums.

I read an interview with John that said he was close to burned out and from 18 on he always was in the spotlight and never got to just explore life and music for that matter. For him leaving the band and being on his own for a while has been just his on thing which is great.

@@12xenn45 I’m liking the new album. The magic is back so that proves Frusciante is key to their chemistry. I still think the lyrics are a bit weak and are some bland songs. But there are 5+ songs I’ll be keeping on rotation, whereas past 2 albums had no desire to relisten
@mokhan88322 жыл бұрын
Speaking from my perspective I could definitely see where the energy was deteriorating and it was right when Josh joined the stadium Arcadium tour. The vibe is not the same and it’s not Josh’s fault but in a live mix Flea and John need to be parallel and it was kind of weird with Josh standing all the way in the back.

This song is an absolute riot. Man they may have written a different song called storm in a teacup, but this song is a whole revolution inside a tight funky teacup. The verses are absolutely wild, I can't take them, then when the chorus hits it's like blissful washover relief, but I crave the mayhem. So I go back to the start to make it all play out again... cannot get enough of this song.

So many aspects of RHCP live shows rely totally on Frusciante, I wonder how he keeps it all together! He sings, he plays rhythms and lead parts, he changes instruments, he changes tones, he dances, he jams, does solo covers and on top of all of that, he improvises beautifully. His musicianship is truly, uniquely superb, stylish and charismatic to boot.
