Ur on point. The band has individually battled addictions throughout the years. The guitarist left the band suffering from heroin addiction but has since returned. The ashes were tribute to the original guitarist who passed away from an overdose.

RHCP are an amazing band. Lots of great songs to listen to.

Anthony Kiedis the singer wrote a beautiful and honest autobiography entitled Scar Tissue about his years of drug addiction. The band's lead guitarist Hillel Slovak also died of an overdose and the wonderful historic guitarist you see in the video is John Frusciante who was also a slave to heroin for years. Fan fact: John Frusciante said he thought it was stupid to pretend to play the paper guitar in the video. More rhcp please. Greetings from Italy

Scar tissue that I wish you saw. You got it right about it being about inner scars. The video is like a view of the band through a lens that shows the scars, dirt, pain and the truth. The entire Californication album is very good, it is well spoken of across generational gaps

but as a continuation John Frusciante was heavily influenced by Jimi Hendrix. He's an incredible guitar player. Listen to him perform How Deep is your Love by Bee Gees !!!!! It's an honest, talented, raw performance.

I enjoyed your reactions to this song. The Chili Peppers are my favorite band. Through them I was introduced to such great artists such as Stevie Wonder, Parliament, Funkadelic and James Brown. I would like to recommend “Power of Equality” for another RHCP reaction video. It shows another facet of the band with a very timely message.

y'all got to do Higher Ground by them. It's a Stevie Wonder cover. Killer song. without getting too much into the lyrics or the symbolism. it's about addiction and feeling broken/lost/alone. John Frusciante was playing those "impossible" guitar solos. They were impossible because the neck of his guitar was broken. You can't play a guitar like that. It can't make those notes. That's why he threw that guitar away at the end. But it's very end of times/apocalypse with the setting. I would encourage y'all to read Anthony Kiedes book. It's very eye opening and shows a light of fame and hollywood.

I like your interpretation. Flea plays bass guitar & John Frusciante is the guitarist. John had rejoined the band before this album after coming close to death from prolonged & pretty extreme heroin & speed addictions. The lead singer has written a book about his own addiction history & life events/challenges. I hadn’t noticed what could be ashes in the video before. The singer & bass guitarist had lost their first guitarist to an overdose. I think your comment about inner demons is on target

Oh snap! Make sure court doesn't take note of the levels in the bottles behind you!. We won't tell 🍷😸 Next why not revisit the Smashing Pumpkins? "Tonight, Tonght" is different. The official award-winning video.

Chili 🌶️ s are not for everyone. People that love 🌶️ get it. Yeah, Flea plays the bass, but he plays it like the lead. 🌶️ original member died of an overdose. The guys said, "... he was our brother."
